How many rookies are you starting on field? At the moment I have seven rookies on field.

Who’s your D3 and D4? (third defender and fourth defender) Right now it's Jordan Ridley and Jayden Short.

How many forward premiums are you starting? I have Dangerfield and also Tom Phillips who I am picking as a keeper, but not sure whether he is counted as a premium.

Who’s the player you want to pick but can’t fit in? Going to mention two here. Lloyd and Neale. Just can't fit them in but think they will be the top scorer on their respective lines again.

How many mid-pricers ($250k-$450k) will you start with? Right now I have two but that may change.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches? Trust your gut!

How many rookies are you starting on field? At the moment I have 5 first-year rookies on field.

Who’s your D3 and D4? (third defender and fourth defender) Forgotten man, Sam Docherty and Hayden Young.

How many forward premiums are you starting? 2 premiums up forwards for me.

Who’s the player you want to pick but can’t fit in? Lloyd. We can't always have what we want, and I fancy the value in a few guys at much cheaper price-tags down back.

How many mid-pricers ($250k-$450k) will you start with? Just the two for me. (Mostly) GnR baby.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches? Have fun, and don't worry about the scores of players outside of your team. You can only control so much in this game, and we know lady luck can be a cruel mistress.

The 3 D's. Danger, Dunkley & Dusty.

Lloyd.

How many mid-pricers ($250k-$450k) will you start with?
Caldwell & Ziebell.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches? Save yourself nightmares by just starting the Grawndy ruck combo. As someone who didnt do that last year... I wasted around 7 trades on the ruck line alone.

How many rookies are you starting on field? At the moment I have 7 rookies on field! (not sure to be worried or not...)

Who’s your D3 and D4? (third defender and fourth defender) Ridley and C Daniel.

How many forward premiums are you starting? 1 premium with 1 midpricer.

Who’s the player you want to pick but can’t fit in? Dunkley/Dusty to strengthen the fwd line but mostly a GnR strategy this year does not allow for that!.

How many mid-pricers ($250k-$450k) will you start with? 2 (both in the fwd line - best value?)

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches? Dont let a couple of pre-season matches sway your premo choices. I'm actually glad that some of my premos did not perform "well" but trust your gut and dont let months of research go down the drain based on chasing pre-season scores.

Tom Phillips - not sold on Caldwell but not sure what to sacrifice to make it work. Wouldn't mind Fyfe either!

Ziebell and Caldwell at the moment, but could become Ziebell and Phillips.
What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches?
Treat it like the game it is, have fun with it! This may actually be advice to myself.

Trust your eye and do your own research if you have the time - with so much content out there it is easy to be swept up in the opinions of others.

Base team structure around rookie availability and work from there (pretty common knowledge I guess).

I haven't worked on my team much yet, I was planning to post the pre-season games, but haven't nailed a starting side I am happy with yet. As such, most of these responses will change significantly before settling on my final side...

How many rookies are you starting on field?
Currently 8. That will need to change.

Who’s your D3 and D4? (third defender and fourth defender)
Daniel and Short. I expect both to be in my final team too.

How many forward premiums are you starting?
1 - Danger. I think I would prefer to get at least two.

Who’s the player you want to pick but can’t fit in?
Based on this version, Bont or J. Kelly, among many.

How many mid-pricers ($250k-$450k) will you start with?
This version has 3, but it will likely be somewhere between 1 and 6. All depends on quality rookie options being available and if I start all the top premiums or not.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches?
Do as I say, not as I do. I rarely follow my own suggestions regarding various players and usually regret it.

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches?

Be prepared to eat 2 or 3 Rookie donuts.
Throwing trades at the problem, because you are facing a 40 to 60 point donut is ridiculous. You are basically saying your early trades are only worth 50 points if you do that. Early trades are worth over 200 points.
No one likes a donut, particularly in the first few Rounds, but just suck it up, and eat it. That trade you saved should get you a lot more points later on!!!

9 if you include H.Young, really worried about how high this number is looking at how low it is for heaps of others here!!!!! May need to reconsider!

What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches?
Be aware of something called confirmation bias. This is a type of cognitive bias that involves favouring information that backs up views and beliefs you already hold, while ignoring other information that may contradict your opinion.
Even though I'm aware of it myself, I'm still VERY guilty of doing exactly this!
So my piece of advice is to carefully consider alternative choices when deciding to start a player before the season and also when deciding to trade in another player during the season. Don't just unfairly dismiss the alternative options just because you don't like them or don't want to be convinced otherwise!

Drawing the rookie line at JUH 207,300 I'd have 6 in the current draft. Ziebell and Daniher are rookies for me though and my next draft I think will probably have a couple more.

Who’s your D3 and D4? (third defender and fourth defender)

Currently Daniel and Short but I think it will be Ridley or Stewart instead of Short soon (who will be D5).

How many forward premiums are you starting?

1.5 currently (Phillips the .5)

Who’s the player you want to pick but can’t fit in?

Neale and Gawn, Gawn would be in if there was an extra ruck slot Neale if I had an extra 200k in the bank.

I also really want to role with the Cripps/Taranto/Rowell trio but don't have the cajones.

How many mid-pricers ($250k-$450k) will you start with?

Probably just Ziebell and Phillips in that range. Maybe Young if hand is forced.


What’s the one piece of advice you would give other KFC SuperCoaches?

Durability is king. If a player has a big injury history is there a genuine strong reason to believe that might change this year? Perfect preseason being the best possible fix that I know of.
