Thanks for your thoughts. He’s one I could be kicking myself on if he does work (“such an obvious pick”), so I’m erring on keeping him, albeit it’s clearly not certain, and he wasn’t as good as I’d hoped in preseason.
I currently have neither McNeil nor Downie, but am working on the basis that Downie will likely be the sub (or at least was in very strong consideration for that role), which I’d be keen to avoid.
To be honest I don’t know a lot about McNeil, other than that he seems to be in the 22, is older and played well in his last season (think it was 18 touches and 4 tackles). Sounds decent notwithstanding JS concerns.
Downie I had locked in until the potential sub news. Seems a good and pretty easy pick if he avoids the vest.

Cunnington, Dumont and Anderson all out. The kids will definitely get a go this year though. Our success this year won’t be based on ladder position but rather the development of youth so now that he’s been picked it’s his spot to lose. Does look like one of those frustrating picks though that play early and will be out by Rd 3.
