At one point in that quarter GC took a kick in. Six kicks and two handballs later the ball was 25 out from square where the kick out took place. Terrible to watch. WCE playing the same way. On a perfect sunny day, with the ground looking like a bowling green two teams decided to play choke my space football. AFL response will be a rule that says you must get the ball out of your defensive half in 30 seconds or you give up possession and a 50m penalty. This rule to be introduced during the bye rds this year.

You'd be pretty filthy as a Gaff owner, what in god's name is going on with his game?
Been watching the whole game and it seems he's just isolated on the ground. No where near the ball most of the times. Looks like he's getting tagged.

ONLY a total of 8 disposals so far and it's 3-quarter time!! He usually has 8 or so disposals in a quarter itself!
Let's see if he can have a big last quarter.

Yep agree, he was on my radar including Markov who's doing well in this game, unfortunately couldn't go full mpm.
My actual worry now is that people like me who saw the preseason trends and loaded up on premo backs to D5 may well have been right but also may have grossly overspent if there are guys like Bowes, Day and H Clarke doing similar things for 100-150k less.

Going by the marks by Bowes and Markov, 10+ there must be heaps of turnovers.

The possible fallen premo upgrade list is coming together nicely :devilish:

funny that, i did that initially, then warmed to the rookie forwards and ended up with 2 premo defenders. Decided to go midprice as had no trust in some of the rookies appearing, then in 3 days they all came out of the woodwork. I've got Kosi and Brockman, don't think they'll last once Wingard and Lewis come back in the side. Anyway, I'm thinking can Gulden and Rowe reproduce next week? Actually playing against each other.

Initial thoughts on the new man on the mark rule after 1 round is that I don’t completely like it, but don’t hate it either... it definitely speeds the game up, but I really don’t like the fact the defending team is reduced to 17 men vs the offensive teams 18, with the man on mark effectively useless.

The rule needs some tinkering to allow all 18 men to defend.

I could ask the same question with my players, Neale, Gawn, Grundy, Steele, Bontempelli, might as well throw Dangerfield in there. What has gone on with their game?

Is it the new rules that is throwing the game on it's head, the faster pace is leaving the slower players behind?

Actually quite like the fact that it's skewed towards the attacking team.
For years we've been subjected to coaches preaching the defend mantra which in my opinion has created the ugly game.
I'd rather see teams moving forward, with marks and goals, than a flock of defenders punching to the boundary.

I'm enjoying it while it lasts, as I'm sure there are tacticians in the backrooms of every team looking at ways to nullify the effect.
