depends how the rookie rucks go, Grundy still losing cash tonight.
After 1 game one rookie ruck is a success.

The other 3 rookies scored less than 19 other rookies so how people think they worked in Round 1 is beyond me.

All teams should have started 13 premiums even with Gawn & Grundy so I am struggling to see any clear advantage starting the 3 rookie Rucks after one round.

1/135 with Dow on the bench with an E - VC Grundy.

but...no likely donuts as yet, but gee it would be handy if either Flynn, MilesyB, the Chad, Brocky, or even Joe had a rest this week. Otherwise its c for with Neale, Macrae or Big Gawn
You can go and wash that filthy mouth of yours out with soap right now mister!!!:mad::mad:

this seems useless but could be handy if a newly traded in player is a late out.
It would be handy if you had to get rid of a player from an early game without being sure who you wanted to trade in especially with the staggered announcement of games. So Dow to Berry. And if Berry doesn't get named, Berry to Jordon. 1 trade. Can't say I have any experience with it.

The rookie rucks are still of value if the most expensive are poor value and it gives time to assess the landscape. Win for Grundy owners tonight though.

How ?

Even if 3 of them keep playing , if they are scoring 40's each round they will be lucky to make $ 75k.

If Hunter & Meek both suddenly dissappear it would have been better off starting more rookies in the forwards or mids.

My bad, must be thinking of a different game.
"TRADES
  • You can make unlimited trades on your initial team entry. Your team is locked in and entered at the start of the next upcoming round after you joined.
  • You'll then be able to trade up to a maximum of 2 players after the conclusion of each round (and up to 3 in multi-bye rounds 12, 13 and 14), with a total of 30 trades available for the entire season. You can make ONE or TWO trades at once (and up to THREE in multi-bye rounds). Players may be traded right through the week and during the rolling lockout, up until each player's match has begun.
  • Trades can be reversed right up until the start of the FIRST match of each round. Once the round and rolling lockout is under way, you can no longer reverse any trades"
From the comp rules...

I wouldn't be trying to trade and untrade after the round starts. Sounds like either a glitch or something else - I am not going to be giving it a whirl to test for sure.

Good to know I'm not the only terrible tipster here, only 30% chose Collingwood to win that match in the poll, even as the betting favourites.

Grundy VC + Walsh was a nice game. 2/375 once I lock that in, not risking a 135 VC score after last week.

Edited for scaling.
Not normally into bragging too much... ok just a little.

Oh God... Teague in the presser saying "I thought Cripps looked good as a forward"...

Final nail fired.

Guy just looks like he has no idea to be honest.

What the hell???? Doubt I have seen an A grade midfielder look worse when playing forward tbh

Providing no injuries or suspensions, moving Cripps on next week - I hate sideways trading with a passion but these new rules & his coach have deemed it necessary unfortunately.

I agree the risk is high but I don't think the battle has been lost yet. Grundy might have just had a "big" score which is low compared to previous years.
Meek basically tagged Gawn so he might have had his lowest score. Hunter can be a rookie correction. Lots to play out yet.

This is the problem I find with the ruck discussion though , every one is automatically drawn to Gawn & Grundy.

Why doesn't Goldstein and others come into thinking ?

Gawn & Grundy could well be the # 1 & # 2 ruck , but the majority just seem to automatically lock them in.

And yes I realise their are other alternative premiums in D , M & F and no will have D1-6 , M1-8 , F1-6 so you can't muck up R1 & R2.

Without Half a dozen clangers and DE of 56% Grundy could have got 160+

I think if Hickey/Martin put up a decent score this round I will be taking one of them for Hunter while the opportunity is their.

Can't see Hunter and possibly Meek playing enough games to last to traditional downgrade/upgrade period personally.

Think if you don't take the option to improve in Round 3 , season could be well and truly shot by Round 6-8.

Really need Hunter & Meek to outscore the forward/mid rookies by 15-20 points each game for them to work.

Hopefully Meek (if named) does put up a decent score , if so he could be a viable R3 , again if he plays enough games.
