After mentioning Walker , let's be conservative about 1000 times as the trade of the round , by passed him to chase the rookies , so this Warner better be bloody well worth it

@Connoisseur no use for your Round 4 VC/C thread , Walker would have to be the lockiest of all locks to be Captain against the Kangaroos

Well done to those that ignored history (totally irrelevant to the 2021 game) and traded him in 🤗

Even bigger shout out to @Drew who brought him in for Round 2 , well done.

Huge recovery from Berry, if only he kicked that goal.

Tex Walker - ***. Needs a random asada test tomorrow morning I think. But seriously in white hot form, great to see.
I really don't understand where it's come from. Even at his absolute best Tex was rarely the type to kick bags consistently and was more of a CHF who was a threat due to his ability to create goals for others as well as kicking them himself. Adelaide were consistently going to him to the point where he'd be flying against 3 guys and he still found a way to kick goals. Maybe it's the fact that, McAdam aside, Tex is the only dangerous forward in the team. It's pretty much Tex or nothing. Rowe, McHenry, Murphy and co can barely be relied upon to make the distance from 30.

9/1182 Grundy :D

Same score with this guy @teatai too both deciding to trade in Tex last minute. 😂

Can't recall the last time I've ever cracked the 1k mark on a Friday night. The doggies trio were great as usual. But the Highmore news was probably the highlight of the night (soz Tex), now being able to captain Grundy. Got Tex last minute after seeing Bruce smash North. Tex with an upcoming meeting with North next week swayed it for me. Trading in Tex allowed me to bench Rowe up fwd and only have one fwd rookie onfield in Warner. Also Berry over Powell a small win in the mids. Still have a trade up my sleeve.

7/820

Played: L Neale (VC), J Daniher, J Macrae (C), C Daniel, J Dunkley, S Martin and J Ziebell
Yet to play: R Sloane, R Laird, E Gulden, B Campbell, C Warner, D Martin, J Short, P Cripps, J Kelly, S Docherty, M Flynn, T Taranto, J Clark, T Stewart and J Impey

Great performance by the majority but S Martin once again a damper. Wish I would have waited on the Grundy to S Martin and Dow to D Martin trade for another round to assess the rucks and need a lazy 160+ from Dusty to reduce the deficit considerably. Disappointing to see the stalled cash generation for Hunter, Bergman and Highmore but fortunately my structure meant I am not dependent on fielding them. Perplexing to see others actively wishing for donuts to access the score from Grundy. In other news, off to a great start in AFL RDT with 4/656 and ranked 32nd pre round.

Good luck to all those on the Tex bandwagon and unfortunately I will not be joining the party in this format.

Time to sit back and watch Sloane and Laird combine for 240+.

Superb again from Sloane and most impressive was that he only managed 3 tackles and no goals. Once again I have no players involved after the early match tomorrow, so hoping the Swans rookies continue on their merry way and another ton for Dusty.

Crows vs Suns

General - Who had this as one of the best games of the season? I know I didn't but it was a great game, probably the most physical game I've seen and a real war of attrition towards the end and some huge individual efforts!

Crows - Probably should have won by more, wasted some chances and didn't do a very good job of scoring while on top but they did enough and that's what matters. Love their pressure work and their run and they actually look decent, even last week they were much better than the scoreboard.

Walker - Those who grabbed him would love it, looking at his next month he should keep it going as well. Perhaps the most amazing 9 years later breakout I've ever seen and it's still baffling to be honest given how bad he looked in the preseason. Those who had him would be filthy as well, his ratio was absurdly brutal, that was a 150+ and, imo, a 170 type of game if I've ever seen one! Stack of contested marks, the goal to take the lead (multiple times) and a couple of goal assists at least as well.

Sloane - Monster from him, willed them back into the game through the guts after they got smashed early. Looking to be fit and firing again, wonder when the tag comes and if he's worked out how to not disappear when it comes. Should be next week.

Laird - Great first half, he actually faded a fair bit and his lack of impact late in the game cooked his SC. Still, really solid.

Smith - Finally produced some points for a pretty good start to the season. Still think he can push premium numbers this year.

Keays - Not fantasy relevant but his last quarter was monstrous.

ROB - Scored alright in the end, was getting abused by Witts until his injury.

Sholl - There's a fantasy player in there but just not quite enough quantity yet.

Rowe - Really solid first half, big even, like Laird he went missing in the 2nd half and got punished for it. Tough role but he was good. Needs to tackle more though, that's the area that pushes him to a lock best 22 guy.

Butts - Really solid game from him, turns out he was the best option of the defender rookies and even worth the premium if he does that. Was just really solid in the 1 on 1 contests.

Berry - Stuck deep forward most of the game, basically scored everytime he got outside of 50 and actually played really well. Couple of massive late tackles as well that would be pure game film material, the one on Lukosius which was a 2nd and 3rd effort play by him was exceptional work.

Suns - Playing to be respectable right now but ultimately they need to take a few more risks through the corridor and they need to find some marking targets, personally I think it's time for Lukosius to go to CHF, the rest of the guys have developed enough to not need him as a crutch and they need a hard leading target, which is what he was as a junior.

Greenwood - Man can tackle. Finally scored well with Rowell out after the same led to stardom last year.

Bowes - Really strong 2nd half by him, was out of it early and just keeps working for the cheap touches but also added some contested stuff this week. I reckon this game was the ball park of where he ends up based on role and attitude so far.

Lukosius - Butchered it tonight but as I said, I think they need him at CHF, they have no repeat lead target and no linkup right now and it leads to stagnant and predictable forward moves, they got feasted on by the Crows intercept guys as a result.

Anderson - Really solid game again for him. He's so close to exploding.

Markov - Just so close to being a really solid option, going to have some big games when things go well.

Witts - Medial injury at this point, fingers crossed that's all it is as was a pretty nasty mechanism. He was dominating until it happened as well sadly. The big question here is who rucks for GC now? Smith is a month away at least, Thompson and Conroy are done for the season. They have literally no other rucks on the list and that spot is going to be very interesting to watch. FWIW Burgess was actually very competitive and could have some genuine Mitch Clark/Stef Martin potential as his followup work was great.

Missed the game and all the excitement. No trade in of Tex for me, as my F1 is Hind. I'll stay the course and follow my strategy. 7/759 or 8/817 with Berry, who's on my bench, otherwise swap Freo Fyfe with Jordan onfield. I'll captain Gawn, hope he goes 200. 😜 Got Highmore onfield, so will get Kosi's score, also have Clark who could give me a donut. I'm willing to cop a donut to preserve trades, still early no panic stations.

Sloane looking like a very good pick this year - $471,900. Well done @Connoisseur and anyone else with him.
Thanks @Ironhawk. A relief that the selection has paid off so far and I am looking forward to see if he can continue his fine form over the coming month.

Very surprised how quickly he was dismissed as an option and would have been far more enjoyable if I had a few other SCS coaches to enjoy it with.

Hopefully Cripps and Taranto were taking notes and can provide a similar performance.

6/809 Macrae

no rookies onfield yet so things will change , very interested to see how the 4 Swan kids go against the Tigers (especially Campbell , Gulden & Warner as I own them)

some nice 40's and 50's on the bench to generate some $$$ albeit slowly

still dissapointed that I traded Scott out instead of Hunter
