I thought Farrar looked quite good against out Swannies on the weekend. Did a few things to impress so his JS seems solid. His price tag isn't the most attractive for an unproven rookie but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to rookie F6/7s right now.

If I didn't have premo injuries to deal with this week and was struggling to field a semi decent F6 option then I'd be strongly considering him myself.
I thought Fakerae was Finlay Macrae , maybe it is Farrar.

Who knows these days with people using nicknames continually 😉

Anyone got Heeney's BE?

In a season where the fwd line is a crapshoot, is he a genuine top 6 contender from round 7 onwards?
I would probably hold off on him right now. Hasn't fully bottomed out just yet and might still be bothered with that sore paw. I'd probably go an Impey, Atkins or Hind type for similar coin if you don't already own them. Then maybe look at grabbing Heeney in a couple of weeks when he could be close to $350K. :)

136 (you can always get BEs on Footywire).

Footywire hasn't actually updated the BE's for this upcoming round though.

Heeney as an example has an actual BE of 144.

Ridley, Laird, Stewart, Docherty, Short, Chapman, - Kosi, Highmore
Oliver, Macrae, Walsh, Merrett, Gulden, Powell, Jordon, Berry - Scott, Clark, Brockman
Gawn, Grundy - Flynn
Ziebell, Dunks, Impey, Daniher, Warner, Dev Robertson, - Treacy, Rowe
90K in the bank.

Dunks off to the morgue to lie in wait with Dangerfield. In two minds if FMacrae is worth bringing in? Fwd line is very thin. Have to field three out of Brockman, Scott, Rowe, Treacy, Berry and Macrae - not a lot of confidence I could get 100-110 pts from them. Next week maybe I can drop one and bring in Sidebottom, Zorko or Marshall.

Could do Sidebottom and Brayshaw this week and forget FMacrae or perhaps look at Atu B and Sidey next week. I do not want to forgo my dpp links as I reckon I will have to juggle the rookies to get coverage each week for a while yet? If Clark could get games I can have Dev R and Scott on the field in Fwds which would be ok as well as keep Def loop options open. 13 this week hurt (bloody scott )

Again because of byes I might do Zorko over Sidebottom. Already at 13 for R14 adding Sidebottom makes it 14? Steele and Marshall, Petracca, Lloyd, Mills, Ryan, Fyfe are also R14 byes. Only one spot at D1 left and probably do Lloyd. I think Marshall may end up being a must have fwd as well. Mid targets are Brayshaw, Steele, Bont, McLuggage, Petracca, Fwd targets are NFI!!

Looking at Rowe-Robertson, Id rather field Gulden for another week than Rowe,Bergman or Waterman as much as he may be an early trade out.

Surprised there wasn't more discussion about Dev Robertson (225K) as a trade in option last week. Probably too high now, though I expect his JS will go up with Neale's injury. If it does I think he is a +70 point player who will be ripe during the byes.
He was a tough one, job security not good and kind of came in at the last minute as well and those guys always sneak under the radar, premium priced to boot so you're not even really keeping the eye out for him.

Pedigree definitely there though and kudos to anyone on the ball enough to get on! Couple of injuries and now he's looking as good as any of the rookies. Probably the best positioned to be the Serong equivalent of last year!

There's a very decent case he's worth picking though still with his scoring potential and the Neale injury.

Is Fakerae worth going for over a double upgrade? Need to clear some of these sh!t rookies off field.
My gut says no but if his role changes and with DPP he's certainly not a bad option. Big thing though was the Pies threw two more rookies in the mix this round and either of them could hold their spot ahead of Macrae and I'd be surprised if one of them doesn't offer a downgrade target next week, positive is we know who is in and out before the first game at least.

Basically I think Macrae is probably worth taking, assuming he's picked, and especially if his price point allows you to do something extra on the upgrade.

Rantall and Macrae are the only real midfield options on the horizon right now as well, so there's certainly some added value in going for that. All the alternatives this week in Farrar and Bosenvulagi and the better looking options next week in Murphy and Frederick are all FWD or DEF only.

I know I'm personally down to just one F/M link once Dunkley goes (unless he goes to a F/M) after expecting to have 4 or 5 in my team! Laird can go into the mids for a few weeks if Frederick and/or Murphy back up but you still need to get him back there also.

I'm looking at going Gulden to Robertson. It allows me to pivot Dusty to the mid bench and avoid a donut. Robertson is also DPP as well which I didn't notice at first.

Sure, he's 100k more than Fin Macrae but I like his chances of scoring 70s as much as FMac scoring 50s and I know which scores look better on field :p.

Quickly losing the fun aspect of this game this season. I feel as if I just CBF'd anymore because no matter what I do there is always something that happens that screws my team over completely.

FWIW, really looking for advice this week for the rubbish team below:

View attachment 29135

Only 24 trades and 6k left.
Have to trade Dunkley and Neale which puts my rookie upgrade plans in ruins.

Can anyone please advise what are some options to consider this week? And which players should I target in the coming weeks to get the rookies off the field?
Really don't know what good trade targets are anymore.

Thanks in advance
After this Round I have 19 trades left and still 7 upgrades to go , with practically a non existent bench to achieve it.

Have come to my senses overnight

Dunkley - > Grundy
Gulden - > Brayshaw

just worry about everything else later
So this leaves me with 19 trades left and a Bank of $ 335,600.00

Team is :-

RIDLEY , STEWART , LLOYD , LAIRD * , DANIEL , Highmore / Jones , Mansell

MACRAE , BOAK , MERRETT , BRAYSHAW , D MARTIN * , CRIPPS , Powell , JordOn / Berry , McNeil , Fyfe *

GRUNDY , Flynn / Meek

ZIEBELL , IMPEY , ZORKO * , Warner , Fantasia * , Rowe / McCreery , Fullarton *

D6-8 the obvious issue.

Daniel & Cripps both underwhelming.

Need Flynn to keep playing.

Next updates will be Warner & Rowe most likely to "value" in Heeney & May.

Will ride Powell & JordOn as long as possible.

NFI how I will upgrade D6 , Flynn & Fantasia

But I am sure many are in a similar (or worse) position , hats off to those without issues/problems.

My current trading is going to between Walsh vs Bont vs Zorko vs Sidebottom. Could go 2 of any of them but I think getting Freoshaw at 480 is too good value to pass up given I think i'm going to struggle money wise. But I could get 2 of any player with Dunk and Neale needing to go.

That's still a solid bank Herbie and not a whole lot of a different side to what I've got and am "reasonably" happy with ahaha (5 defs to my 4; 6 mids each; 3 fwds to my 2; but I have Gawn over Meek).

You've only got 7 upgrades to do for team "completion" and 19 trades to do it. The bank buys you one, maybe 2 of those (if you go 'value') leaving you perhaps 5 upgrades from 17 trades. Flynn + Meek is Premium Ruck + Rookie (eventually) so really it's only 4 upgrades from 15 trades. Easy!

As you said, the coin for those upgrades could be a little harder to find but there will still be cash generating options cropping up throughout the rest of the season to net $100k por trade, just might have to think a bit laterally about it.

Sideways trade of Ziebell in a few weeks anyone?:p

Actually, maybe have another look at this week's trades...

Hold Dunkley for an extra week and then go:
Gulden -> Grundy and Meek -> Whoever instead.

It may seem a bit backwards to hold Dunkley but I don't think Meek is playing again any time soon and Flynn could get dropped seemingly on a whim. Doing this setup means you can bring in a ruck to cover Flynn with a single trade later on rather than having to burn 2 in a week when there will surely be other issues to solve.

Don't know how the logic stacks up but it seems like it's the 'insurance' play to buffer against further disaster? You could even trade Dunkley to Gawn the week after if you can stomach the eye-watering price.

Watching Ziebell seagull 5-6 +6s in a minute when you're not a owner is not good for your health lol
