To anyone who doesn't have Impey...are you considering bringing him in? I feel as if I've missed that boat weeks ago but may need to swallow my pride and make that trade...
An owner myself but something that has not been mentioned enough is that he has little competition besides Jiath as the main distributor out of the defence. Day and Sicily both out indefinitely along with Greaves playing in the VFL, meaning the current averages could be sustainable for an extended period (eg byes and beyond).

does anyone compare Impey to what Daniel does on the dogs?

I made the fairly risky move to grab Impey at 365k. Was regretting it at HT on the weekend but mood changed after that second half!

I think at 435k, with his uncertain history, there just isn’t enough value in him anymore. Only $50k up to Zorko or you can probably save 40k if you take Heeney next week.

For others it's probably an issue with having a consistent scorer, if he continues, then he'd be a viable option.

Great point.
Silly question but even if he's doubled his starting price, is it still worthwhile bringing him in this week over other options around the 450k mark?

Think the question is better stated in a general sense as, forgetting that it's Impey for a sec, would you bring in a player in the forward line priced at $432k that can potentially average 90-95 points from here till the end of the season? (assuming no injuries/role change)

More than happy to pull the trigger on the trade if the move makes sense however I'm just trying to forget the fact that I could've got him for 150k less!!! (and avoided two losses in H2H matchups so far!!)

Yeah I'll be getting in Zorko anyways to cover Neale's injury.
Thinking about downgrading Dunkley to the "best value" option in the forward line. Impey is someone I couldn't ignore now like I've been doing the past few weeks. I know you brought him in the other week but it's riskier now cuz I think his price is now near "keeper" territory.

Also, gonna use my remaining cash to upgrade a rookie into Steele/Bont/Walsh next week.

Impey has a 5 round avg of 106. To put that in perspective Lloydy the "ultimate seagull" (well until JZ showed up on the scene!) has a 5 round avg of 108 or just 2 points more! The only other player in the league that is averaging like that who is still under $450K was Hickey until he got taken out.

It's all about role as @Connoisseur mentioned and there doesn't appear to be threats to that juicy role at least in the short to medium term. And if he keeps playing the way he has been then Clarko would be crazy to move him.

I've cooled my jets on ditching Dusty after a couple of vents. I still expect he is going to drive me crazy watching him but will just have to accept an 85-90 average, anything more will be a bonus. :rolleyes:

So revised trades are now:
Dunkley -> J.Macrae
Rowe -> Brayshaw/Zorko

I'd be nervous about Brayshaw, for some reason some tags work better on him than others, he beat a MDB tag but succumbed to a couple of others.

With the form Mundy is currently in, I wouldn't be surprised if opposition teams started to send a run with/tagger to him instead - he has been so damaging especially over the last 3 weeks.

I think I need a bit of help with my trades this week which for the moment are...

Dunkley > RO'B
Gulden > Farrar

Leaves me 273k to upgrade Flynn > Marshall next week with 1 trade. Leaving 18 trades to upgrade 7 possies.

I could bring in Grundy instead of RO'B but that would require an extra trade next week to get Marshall.

This is my team and I would really appreciate some ideas as I'm going backwards at a huge rate of knots.

Yeah I mentioned that myself on post #97 of this thread so well aware that is a risk. But it's the value proposition he offers right now. Not many players provide the ceiling he has under $500K. Also looking at the Dockers fixturing not sure there will be many hard tags for a while yet, perhaps some run with roles to somewhat limit his influence.

I just expect his big games to more than o***et the ones where he is well held. Either way with Macrae, Steele, Oliver and Bont already in my mids then Brayshaw only needs to provide a supporting actor role, not be the cornerstone of my midfield. :giggle:

Like the rest of us, we have to find value in those M6-8 players and he is one that fits the bill

Mundy is in amazing form - speaking of 5 round averages - 126 or the No.2 midfielder behind J.Macrae since Rd2! :love:

You'd think oppositions would pay him more attention but he's been allowed to do pretty much as he pleases so far. Hopefully your mob has a plan for him this weekend and can leave Brayshaw to his own devices. :D
