NSW BOWLED OUT FOR THEIR LOWEST EVER SHIELD SCORE

Tasmania have stunned New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield, bowling out the Blues for just 32 runs in their first innings in Hobart.
Seamer Jackson Bird had a day out at Blundstone Arena, taking 7/18 from his 10 overs.

Peter Nevill was the only Blue to notch double figures, while top order bats Daniel Hughes, Kurtis Patterson and Daniel Solway all failed to trouble the scorers.
Bird took his 300th Shield wicket with the dismissal of Hughes and soon had New South Wales reeling at 3/0.

The innings total is the fourth lowest in Shield history and the lowest ever for New South Wales.
Tasmania posted 333 in the first innings, with Australian captain Tim Paine scoring 87.
New South Wales sit second on the shield table, while Tasmania are currently fifth.

I saw the wicket yesterday when Tasmania were batting and was very surprised they were doing so well. Shows you the difference between being able to use the conditions as a bowler and being wasteful with the new ball.

Qld win shield final. Best team all season and marnus playing all games was a real bonus. Even when neser and swepson were injured bartlett and wildermuth had break out seasons and meant they didnt lose often

Bryce Street having the final laugh over Starc as well after that pathetic attempt of intimidation from the latter.

Was very surprised NSW managed to make the Shield final. Looking at our batting lineup, it would probably be in the bottom 2-3 lineups.

Queensland having 5 guys who have all been quality openers/no.3’s at this level and beyond certainly makes things easier. Great planning and execution from their management, as they could’ve easily dropped Street and brought in a middle order player. Just rewards for keeping the faith in their local talent.

Haseeb Hameed with 2 centuries for Nottinghamshire to start the county season.

Very interesting if he can maintain his scoring.
