Umps at the Freo game had another medical episode. Not sure if it is the same as the first one. Not sure what the problem is but is seems more contagious than Covid.

Cairns AFL called off games this week due to conjunctivitis outbreaks at various clubs. Is there something similar happening in WA?

It's a bit hard to work out what they are all about.

Drop Hunter when they had no other Rucks. Coffield now playing at Sandy when early in the season he was a distributor at half back. Clark should be playing mid, but is being shifted everywhere. They are a few examples.

They wanted to be contending for a premiership this season. Establishing the back six would have been a key to this, and this seems all over the shop.

Luke Dunstan, a Tom Mitchell clone, can't find a role now with Brad Crouch. This seems a strange trade in if they can't co-exist with Jack Steele.

Overall, the strategy of the last four years has so far been more hit than miss.

It seems like Higgins' recruitment has also made things more difficult for Butler who got up the ground more last season. From the outside it looks like they're basically throwing darts and hoping a few stick. Hannebery's been a disaster, Hill hasn't been great. With the exception of Ryder's importance to their structure the rest of their recent recruits have been mixed at best. Steele's the clear exception but he predates their current recruitment drive.

Empty possessions and marks in a 18 goal hiding probably aren't going to scale all that well, especially with the three early clangers.

Yeah he didn't do a lot with the ball, but surely not to the extent that he should be scored that harshly. His ball use was good and that one horrible clanger kicking for goal was still only one of three clangers in total.

Mills absolutely invisible in the 2nd half - if he had an even half decent quarter then Sydney win.

Fyfe was huge there at the end with four or five contested possessions in the last few minutes and kicked the winning goal, should scale up a bit still hopefully.

Must have been something like that @KLo30. The push in the back one they missed was a shocker. Not one to bag umpires generally but they racked up a few clangers in that game. Freo just need to work out how to convert the inside 50 chances to goals. They had 19 i50 in the third quarter and needed to convert another one or two more of them to get value for the effort.
