Is Weightman worth the premium over Madden ?

Probably has better JS and scoring if dogs continue to smash teams.

No laughing now

Current mids are :-

Macrae , Merrett , Boak , Cripps
Laird & Martin hopefully swing
Jordon , Poulter / McNeil , Byrnes , Fyfe 🍩

Current forwards are :

Hall , Impey , Ziebell , Zorko
Rowe , Warner / Fullarton , McCreery

probably could do :-

McNeil - > Cerra
Warner - > Heeney

and then ignore all the Heeney posts for the remaining 13 rounds 😀

That then means Rowe - > Duncan (via Martin) Round 15.
Jordon - > ???
I'd go for both personally, you need 4 premium mids and that's stretching Cripps into a premium. No way of getting the cash to go top tier and Cerra far too much value to pass, doubled in that the bye suits you well.

Hopefully Laird back is D5 or 6 at least :)

Heeney is high risk but he finishes your forward line and if he stays fit and averages 85+ from here the job is done. At this point you need him to give you 10 weeks so it's say a little prayer each week and hope :)

Probably not unless you're desperate for the on-field aspect.

Realistically you need whoever it is to play round 12 and round 14 more than likely and the 50k and DPP flexibility should give you more if they both achieve that then the slightly better scoring of Weightman which is probably debatable anyway given the dogs next 3 are Melbourne, Freo (at home) and Geelong. Neither should be playing bar injury and neither should be traded out of the final team realistically from that point. Will say Weightman probably better long term job prospects if that injury cover is important.

Does depend on how you feel about the job security as your usage may vary on that front.

I'm sitting here hoping for a Bianco or Macrae sighting as I really need a r14 bye  so just jealous of those who can consider those two without thinking about the bye aspect.

My defence is not too bad

Lloyd , Ridley , Stewart
Daniel , May

+ Jones /Highmore , Mansell

(Obviously could be better but it is what it is)

just need Highmore to return and make some $$$ plus Jones

Think need to take the value while it presents then see what the next few rounds present

Thanks

Jack Macrae seems to have bottomed out at 620k and I'm sick of not having him so I think its time to move this week.

So I'll likely be going Jordon>Madden and Tom Phillips the potato > Macrae.

Not sold on Madden at all but there's no point standing still so I'll just bring him in and pray he can survive through the byes. This leaves me about 20k in bank and 14 trades with 3 more upgrades to make plus Cripps and Daniher who will ideally be traded at some point.

Yep definitely would be doing the double value this week. Laird finishes the backline so I wouldn't be messing around there. Basically have to accept Cripps and hope from here in the mids. Cerra gets you another. Then realistically you've got 3 upgrades from Rowe, Poulter, Jordon, Byrnes, McCreery, Jones and Highmore, which should be doable with the added bonus that 6 of those guys are all r14 byes, so makes the timing even easier to pull off.

Hardest part is probably finding the downgrade targets but hopefully we get enough through the byes!

Going to be a difficult call this week whether to go Madden, Weightman or upgrade.

Weightmans fixture isnt great coming up where we need him - Melbourne, Freo Away, Geelong at Kardina and WC away. Having said that he's played really well against Port away. Kicking 2-3 goals with a few contested marks doesnt really seem sustainable and at this point if he kills his cash gen with one poor score then we're not making a whole lot. Madden is a casino pick really, does he hold? Spin the wheel. Theres clearly 2-3 players who can take his spot coming in round 14 or so, but there might be others who go before him (coleman, ah chee?) Madden DT is also atrocious if that counts for much but he looked good at the level.

I'd like to double upgrade but if there are no new capable rooks on the teamsheets then I'll go Weightman. I don't want to leave things to chance over the byes although some might be willing, theres 0 chance I field 18 all 3 weeks, and optimistically if no injuries hoping for 16-17 in the last two bye rounds.

Cerra vs Heeney a tough call to be honest. Heeney is closer to the pack most likely but Cerra should be 15ppg better with significantly higher durability, so is probably better value.

Probably comes down to how many of those Taranto and Daniher types you're holding that are likely going to be in the final side at this point.
Cerra for me would be for Jiath, I traded out all my pseudo premo’s (should have kept Taranto) so I’m happy to take a punt.

I'm thinking similar to you - as it stands there isn't a single rookie who played last round that will be on the bubble next week.

If there are no reasonable debutants named this week, I will be forced to pick up Weightman.

Thanks mate , I'm sold.

Cerra & Heeney it is

All eyes on Reeves (or Treacy) , shouldn't have to trade for Round 12.

Then just hope some new rookie mids show up.

Hmm, should I go to Powell->Cerra as the value play, or is it a better move to go Jiath->Whitfield.

Jiath is 3 of the last 4 have been no good. Whitfield perhaps turned the corner. Can go super big and close to the bottom of his price availability.

Powell expected to lose 50k, and Cerra super cheap so requires less $$ from elsewhere.

It is annoying that Madden & Weightman both have the round 13 bye... don't think I can take both.

Aaron Hall 480K BE 70 - 4 x 100's in a row with a round 12 bye which suits my structure perfectly.

Very tempted to move Warner on for him, I think we have enough evidence to pick him now - his role is just so SC friendly.

I agree it's annoying re: Madden and Weightman but there just doesn't look to be many if any decent downgrade options on the horizon.

Flynn to Reeves could be viable after they have both had their bye if Reeves is named round 13. Aside from Reeves there doesn't appear to be any other viable rookie options who played their first game of the season on the weekend.

Also, out of all the possible rookies who are a slight chance to debut this weekend or during the byes, they also appear to have the round 13 bye or round 14 bye which is possibly even worse for some team structures.

I've got Flynn to Reeves locked in if he shows up.

Pretty sure Scott to Cerra looks like one trade i'll do this week.

Just considering whether i go one up and one down... or both up.

McCreery to Heeney or Maddin?

I know McCreery may make a little more. He kicked 3 goals on the weekend in a close game and only got 52. At this rate, he won't make much more.

I'm kind of hoping Scott misses this week so that he doesn't burn more cash.

I've got about 4 players I want to trade out, all of which are poised to start losing cash due to throwing in a shocker or 2. Scott, Powell, Jiath, Jordon.

I had been hoping to keep Jiath and Jordon to their byes, and still might, but the possibility of getting Whitfield (which likely finishes my defence) has led me down the "trade Jiath" path. I'll be watching teams closely as if someone like Powell is "rested" it could potentially buy them a week, or a month, in my team.
