Gawn was the easiest pick of the year.

Did I miss round 1 - how'd you go for the season?

Against one of the worst midfields in the comp.

Fyfe, Mundy, Serong, Brayshaw ahead of him.

Not much more needs to be said IMO.

Yeah can't see him playing much midfield when Fyfe and Mundy are back

Yeah I thought Gawn was really, really good. Was surprised that he 50/50'd the CBAs with Jackson. Thought he'd been in there a lot more.

Anyway, was scared off Darcy by the injury history and me running skinny at R3. Also, and I know this is an overall oriented site, but the leagues are incredibly important to me. Lotsa local bragging rights

On rucks: Surely West Coast's injury plague rules a line through NicNat now. Can see him getting cotton wooled by about round 16 if they go as tits up as they are looking at the moment

Haha, nah, just meant first picked. Much better value than last year and in pretty much the same situation with Jackson as he was in 2021.

Lmao no ones surprised - he can still have big games. He clunked a lot of intercept/contested marks. Those are not sustainable every game.

He will have more down games with a 50/50 split than usual.

Oh, don't worry. If Darcy lines up round 1, I'm picking him too. He smashed it off almost no preseason last year. He'll be even better this year.

The feedback suggests Gawn had higher CBA's early and then went off last quarter where Luke caught up.

Good sign for Gawn.

Only question is given age does Gawn start at 70% then roll backwards to 50-60% once the season gets going and they want to manage him more. Feels like Gawn Darcy and NN could all be managed to a degree for different reasons.

I think most would differ on this view. Jackson lifted through the year with higher CBA's into end of season and finals.

Yeah, Hugo been good preseason so far, hopefully continues to today. Re worked my team today and he is in it, however, with 11 premiums it means the 1st rookie on the bench (def/mid/fwd) has an average price of $170k, thats before Preuss at $200k at R3.

This assumes now Holland (played reserves), Chesser, Clarke no longer looking viable and the Wards despite the hype didn't deliver this week.

I think his ruck split won't drop, but his TOG will as the season goes on. Just like last year.

I feel as though Grundys performance is tied to the Pies win/loss situation. I don't see the Pies being very competitive this year.

I love that he looks like that 40 year old punter still running around in the 5s at club footy level who just kind of runs around in the forward pocket trying to snipe people

The hair also looks a bit Dermie-esque so yeah, exactly.
