North Melb.
Whilst English has been good hes also spent the vast majority of the game rucking against Fort, lot bigger tests to come.
Yes was going to ask about that one...
Stef and Big O neutralising each other; English beating Fort in the 2nd ruck battle?

14 touches in a half though means he is finding the footy

The big difference here is that Sicily and Heeney are not in the midfielder line. They only need to improve a bit and are keepers. Cripps needs to increase a lot to become a keeper.
Agree but a fit Crippa has proven he can do it

2018 - 119 ave.
2019 - 117 ave.

Just one of those many risks you have to decide if you want to take or not 😁

English is a very interesting one. Playing almost a midfield role with his link up work, but also great intercept mark positioning behind the ball. Looks fit and agile, and dare I say a little stronger. Seems like they’ve decided English’s midfield work is more valuable than what he can do forward, and Martin is solid enough forward so it’s better team balance. Have only noticed English in the forward line when he’s legit resting there, and definitely reckon he’s been the majority ruckman in the middle for the night. Very tempting!

Hewett attended the 2nd most CBA's of all Carlton midfielders last night, only behind SC lock P Cripps.

Strong chance that even when Walsh returns, Hewett remains a part of the main midfield rotation.
Have CBA's and Kick ins been posted? I can't find them.

Have had a few and been out so tried to concentrate on the game, but for what it’s worth…

Western Bulldogs.

Bontempelli - superb. Looks in fantastic shape. Like the past couple of seasons, accumulation is the issue, but looked to be eased through things.

Dale - second season in the role so should probably expect some improvement, but was solid without being amazing.

Daniel - hasn’t been in my plans, but looks a solid pick for those who are considering him.

Dunkley - role was encouraging. In the thick of it and provided he’s injury-free, he should be at the pointy-end of the top forwards by Round 23. Just about locked-in.

English - looks a bit stronger in the contest. It’s a contract year, so there’s a lot on the line. Wouldn’t be the worst pick, but seems a luxury F7/ R3 post-byes.

Macrae - slight question marks at the start which were quashed pretty quickly. Wasn’t in the first two centre bounces. Whether that’s just the usual pre-season shenanigans or Bevo is trying for more of a dynamic mix is the big question. Didn’t do anything to sway me from not staring with him.

Naughton - I’d love to pick him, just reminds me of a more stay-at-home Riewoldt. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the top 8-10 forwards, but there’s just so much value elsewhere.

Treloar - attended the first two centre bounces, which bodes well for his scoring. Second season at the club, so expecting a little more stability and consistency. If you have him in your teams it’s a solid tick, considering the amount of ball he had.

Brisbane.

Berry - second good game in a row. One of the biggest ticks was that he was getting lateral ball backward of centre, so they trust the ball in his hands. Big tick and locked-in.

Neale - good role, looks good. Lock him in.

Rich - as advertised. Reckon he’ll go close to at least matching his 2021.
