Much to the delight of @Rumbler and Gawn owners, I have once again elected to start the season without him.

Preferably would like another premium mid instead of a premium defender (eg Steele over Short) but this would involve trading or benching Ward which I would prefer not to do unless more rookies are named before the Richmond game tomorrow night.

Good luck to all for season 2022.

Current draft. I'm sure some of my selections will change depending on the teams announcements next week. Not too sure on my midfield but backline is looking quite strong. I'm a little concerned with having so many PODs but if it goes well, the cash might be mine as others try to catch up. Other issue is the lack of clear captain choices so that will depend on the opponent each week and how they match up.

Found out my whole team is out for Round 1. Anyone have any recommendations or do you think I can make up the 2300 in the long run from missing 1 round

This is where I'm at currently. Had to trade out Lloyd and have brought in Crisp for now. Only got 23k in bank.

Can you please help verifying my rookies, especially the ones on the bench? The one I'm not sure of is Hayes, does he get dropped when Ryder returns?
Baldwin or Owens a must-have over Dixon/Hough/Hayes?

Kinda settled on all premiums but any suggestions appreciated, especially for rookie changes.

Would definitely go Owens over Hough! Better role and JS :)

Having passed on Durdin, I don't think there's too much between Hayes and Baldwin. Hayes might score a little better, but probably worse JS with Ryder returning. The rest looks great!

Thoughts on any changes needed? Fairly keen to keep 50k in the bank for the flexibility of R2 corrections (e.g. De Koning to Gibcus, Mead to Stephens, Xerri to Brodie)

I think you should start with Brodie and potentially look to correct to Xerri rather than the other way around.

Lots of role uncertainty with Xerri, and with Brodie at least Fyfe isn't playing this week so you should expect a good score.

Why do you think Owens has a better role & JS over Hough?

Curious as Hough plays half back (very lucrative) mainly & can play wing/ half fwd along with WCE having just 25 fit players on the list so I think his JS is quite good.

Good question! My feeling is that Hough will probably go out for Witherden, who returns from suspension next week. Although it's possible he could swap to the wing, they also have Kelly back from covid, while Duggan, West, and Shuey might not be too far away.

On the other hand, Owens has basically just been picked ahead of Wanganeen-Milera, Long, and Bytel, so I don't see any reason for him to lose his spot if he plays alright.

In terms of role, I think Owens' wing spot is slightly better than Hough playing as a lockdown-ish back pocket. But if he's more off a half-back flanker, then their scoring should probably be similar.

Yeah I'm considering that! Only problem is then I can't afford Stephens if I need to correct to him after R2 :/

Hough & Witherden played in the same team in the last practice game.
Duggan a few weeks away, Shuey maybe next week.

How far away is Billings, Jones & Clark?

Owens was a surprise inclusion for round 1 , I haven’t seen much of him so happy to be more informed about him.

I do know Simmo is very impressed with how quickly Hough has adapted to the higher level & stated he has afl level running patterns/ knows where to go. That’s why I am comfortable taking him even though he is very skinny along with his role flexibility.

Owens wasn't even selected for the first scratch match though...

So a few decisions to make, my head was not capable last night:

1. Lloyd > Crisp/Rich or Lloyd > Sicily (+$ = where to use dollarbucks [in Hindsight Hewett,] but perhaps a fwd. Don't think it's enough $150K or so, to do anything much with Rowell)

2. Keep Lloyd as C and get Gibcus score onfeild. (Short term pain, for what I guess would be a bit of a pod with Lloyd - but would it make that much difference?)

3. Do I ditch or keep Dixon and look for a rookie C loop agent elsewhere, to get Macraes VC 133 - I'm loathe to give up any playing rookie potential cash gen.

4. Any other suggestions?

Appreciate it.
