I hear you mate, and I am normally a real tight bigger when it comes to trading early. It's the 400k mate. I've got absolutely no doubt that Steele is a top 8 mid easily and gawn will be a top 3 ruck. I've nailed my rookies and midpricers. I acknowledge that a trade like this will in reality probably lose some points. But what if it didn't? And I pocket a whopping 400k? Steele and gawn and huge clangers, Steele needs some help and the game was too open for him I felt. last year I went all top end Prems and rookies. I always ignore value picks and play it safe and I've been playing supercoach since it started. Playing it safe won't often put me in contention. Had a few top 1000 finishes playing it safe, going top end Prems and rookies and coming home strong. Honestly mate feel like I've got to live by the sword this year.
Deep down, I know not trading is probably the "correct " move. I'm not even sold on doing this btw, just really trying to think it through
It’s too reactive don’t do it IMO

For those considering trading Gawn after his 92 round 1 (that's about as bad as he can play/ dogs kept sharking his hitouts, dropped easy intercept marks etc) - he has a strong history of being rusty round 1/ starting the season poorly round 1 before hitting form :-

Quite remarkable how he has turned things around after round 1, will history repeat ? ;)

No, but with the news that Martin is out and no longer a priority I might just do Whitfiled/Ridley to Lloyd (using existing bank) and reassess Hewett next week for the other given that the only rookie I think I would be looking at next week is Hayes after we have seen Ryders movements.

@Bomber18 I took Ridley on your recomendation, any reason you have seen to jump off yet ;)?
I would say I was more the train driver of Rowell and Heeney, rather than Ridley as he wasn’t in some of my drafts haha.

As usual with established premos, I think it’s too early to be concerned and he’ll average similar to prior seasons. Hopefully the inclusion of Stringer helps the Dons be a bit more competitive than last week, which would no doubt help him intercept a bit further up the ground

Although I'm not expecting it I wouldn't be surprised if Hewett is given a job tonight. If it does happen I also don't think it's the end of Hewett as a pick as it might just be an occasional thing. Richmond didn't have anyone worth tagging.

People are using trade boosts already?
I have seen some planning on using it/ had a look on BF for a laugh

Hard to justify in round 1 unless doing a big restructure for whatever reason (maybe the ruck line with Darcy not named round 1 for example) but I would much prefer to keep the powder dry unless forced to, pending team announcements tonight.

Hopefully he can tackle his way to 100.

With SDK out in the concussion protocol I'm going to throw the E on Hewett in case this happens. No chance of a late in messing it up and I still have to make the same decision around the rookies, with the option of being able to toss a poor score.
