The coach said after the game, Hewett put attention into the Bont in the third quarter. Think he will play defensive when requires but that shouldn’t effect his score average much.
I don't mind that either as long as it is a sporadic role ... that midfield with Cerra back is starting to look pretty damm good ...

- Might not even need to consider tagging ...

Petracca was an option for those going him and beat him soundly.

Danger and Rowell smashed him but anyone who captained them probably was more lucky that good.

Neale and Miller both very strong options that beat him.

This week Cripps has already beaten him soundly and given that the Cripps/Rowell combination would almost certainly be the most common reason that people didn't start Macrae it's a very relevant one to beat him.

From your wording I get the opinion that you think leaking means significant points, for mine a leak is more a small thing than large, so probably shapes things a bit as well!

Either way, for me personally not starting Macrae has been a big win through 10 games!

Long season though and one of the major positives of Macrae is that you can have confidence that he's still producing in round 22! Albeit I'd be hoping he's been producing in my side for something like 16 of those rounds :)
You are correct. I interpret leaking points in the manner you described as problem. As I said in an earlier comment the difference between Miller and Macrae as C would not rank as an issue for me. And I agree that Danger and Rowell would have been more luck than anything else so they aren't a serious issue for me either. That leaves Petracca and he would have a great option. But he also beat Touk, every ruckman and most other C candidates. Any number of other selection decisions could have had a much greater impact than Neale or Miller scoring a few points more than Macrae. But I do get the point that if you gave up a premium (any of them) and are getting more value from the $$ by using them elsewhere then that would be a big plus.

Absolutely.
Old days, it used to nearly be front page/6.00pm news type stuff.
A lot more common now.
Also, compared to the book they are probably holding on that market, it's not as big early payout as people might think!
Hope they pay out Crippa Brownlow soon too. Six votes so far. Got him $16 in the preseason.

Gawn makes me nervous. I'd say Macrae has gone better than planned! I'm up on the captaincy element both weeks, I'm way ahead on the points and I dodged a rookie grenade.

I'd love him to throw up a stinker though, that sure wouldn't hurt my trade plans of which he is right at the top ;)
Macrae has also been up against two pretty good midfields, both loses and still scored above his average. He will beat up on weaker midfields in wins.

Not sure what the hell happened but it looks like SC cleared my forward emergency?

Durdin was emergency last week, did some swapping around to put him on field for Martin, and then took him back off to give me the option to put the C on Martin. At the end of this he had the E but I log in this morning and nothing.

Very much managing to pick the wrong Carlton rookie each week means it's only cost me 24 points so I'm not sure it's worth chasing up.

Not sure why? Two games in and he's at BE level so far and relied on two huge and out of character ratios to do it.

Will be concerned when he puts up those ratios on more normal output but so far he's had two quiet games (for him) with amazing ratios and scraped to BE.

He's also leaked points to several of the other captain options so far so the VC factor has been nullified.

So far I'm 141 points ahead and an Owens avoided by not starting Macrae. The rest of my decisions though...
And here I was thinking denial was just a river in Egypt

I too bet against both Macrae and Oliver with the Miller, Neale, Cripps, Rowell, Berry M1-5 structure. It did give me more flex to get the "better" rookies and keep most of them off the ground. Unlike @wogitalia I also went with Gawn / Grundy in the rucks, essentially having Gawn there as insurance for the spike VC scores given I wasn't taking Macrae.

I've been gritting my teeth watching Macrae in two games and at this point it's pretty much a BE call. Given so many people are using Macrae as a VC option, for me as long as I find a C score each week that matches or beats Macrae, I've succeeded. On top of that, getting value for money with my other picks and being better able to get potential sh!t scores off the ground in the early rounds, it's a win. (Emergency loopholes are helping there too :p although for the life of me I don't know why I didn't keep the E on McGov last night. Had it there at the start of the week)

Back on Macrae - he appears to have a acquired a golden ticket which is somewhat annoying. Yes, he's improved his kicking over the years but there are still a lot of those awkward grubber kicks that miss targets. Last night's ratio was a little absurd and I feel CD were being a little generous with the "effective" rating at times.

Macrae will no doubt be in my team by seasons end. The true test will be whether I've managed to use the early rounds wisely without him. As Wogi says, it's a long season and the beauty of this game is there are a million ways to win it.

I can't remember ever starting a season with Macrae and found myself either never getting him or selling the farm to acquire him.
This season I decided to go against what I normally do as it clearly has never worked for me in previous seasons, long season but hopefully its a start for things to come for Muppets F.C
Also with 35 trades I just feel like I couldn't possible run out before the end :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

2/446 MacRae VC & Cripps - (but looped SDK C) Durdin at F7 thankfully. Hewett looking like the must have M/D DPP option.

Walshs 90 from a huge 34 possies has him looming as a tasty first upgrade option in a few weeks, wont score that badly very often.
