I would not bother with Maxi as a starting selection in either case. Far too expensive and bar last season has not consistently performed well in the IPL. I would wait until the Round 5-6 mark in which his price tag could of reduced by $100,000+ for his double in Round 7.
This is why I shouldn't have left this to the last minute lol
Thanks mate

I usually avoid the Austrlalian players given they do not receive similar roles to that which they would in the BBL and instead target the premier Indian players or the international T20 globetrotters.

Something I noticed looking back through previous years (from 2019 backwards, when the tournament was last fully played in India) is that while one or two spinners tend to stand out, as a general rule the quicks are more likely to be up the top of the wicket tables. Might have to do with the Indian grounds being very small by global standards.

Might not run with Hasaranga then, as much as I think he'll be very handy... it's a real tricky one for me to get my head around because I typically go straight to the spinners in the BBL!

Yeah, it's the risk that he's dropped next game that's scaring me though... I really like the option though so I might just go for it. Frees up cash for the next few games too.
This quote was enough to sway me

Moeen Ali will miss this game because of visa delay. However, he has procured the visa and is in India now. He's set to be available for CSK's second match of the season, against Lucknow Super Giants, on March 31. In the absence of Moeen, CSK are likely to hand an IPL debut to NZ batter Devon Conway. Speaking to the franchise's social-media team batting coach Mike Hussey said that he's also looking forward to seeing Conway in the IPL. Head coach Stephen Fleming rates him highly, having worked with him during an NZ preparatory camp, ahead of last year's T20 World Cup in the Emirates.

Brief reminder of the scoring rules for IPL. In particular, note the differences from the BBL:
* No dot ball points
* Run out points go to ALL participants in a run out, including the keeper
* 25 points for a wicket (from 20)
* 20 points for a maiden (from 15)
* 12 points for a catch (from 10)
