7/619 - Not great but a long way in the round to go.

Traded in Bowey ($$$). Felt like a clown benching him for Hinge till Hinges last three quarters.

Also grabbed Rachele(benched) in place of my FD. He did exactly what i feared i’d get from a small forward, but there was no other rookie screaming out “pick me” and his JS and DPP is great so will hopefully provide sone useful cover down track. (and next to everyone has him so it was a somewhat defensive play.)

Went to the match last night. Pleasing to see the boys crack in like they did & weren't blown away.

A few points to note:

  • Clayton Oliver throws a lot of handballs. He's just that fast doing it that umps don't pull it up.
  • Steven May is bloody fast.
  • Dyson Heppell is a defensive liability. Does a few nice things offensively in finding space but on the turnover is hopeless at running defensively. Can't count how many times his direct opponent was involved in a scoring chain. Truck has a decision to make here.
  • Peter Wright will put a game together at some stage this year where he looks like Paul Salmon reincarnated. Not just a quarter, but 4 quarters.

8/731 with Touk C to come.

PS. what's with these double header Friday night matches but then a 4:35 pm start on a Saturday?

8 / 817. Possibly role with Neale (C).

Did the Gawn to English trade. Figured that if I didn't make the trade this week, Max had to be a keeper for the rest of the season. Felt wrong to trade the great man, but followed the B/E's.
Went with McGovern to Heeney. Also had doubts on this trade - wait and see if this works out.
Today's big trade will be Berry to Clarry Jnr, (Tommy Green), just like the way he attacks the pill. (risky. but fingers crossed with this one.)

Meant to be the AFLW GF today and they wanted to give it a free space, but it got delayed.

Oliver is a thrower, still waiting for him to get called on it.
