Too late to get on Thomson Dow? Looks the goods.
I bought him in last week for 200k but not sure I would bring him in for his current price. I watched him closely and he scored well, but only when in the contest. Wasn't great around the ground. I really only took him as he was the same price as Stephens but with a 100 in his cycle. Don't think he will score like Brodie has consistently, so you may be only bringing him in for a 80-100k price rise. Really depends on how much they play him in the centre bounces.

Team dynamic wise, I think Williams will come in as the number 1 ruck - it is his chance now to be the main ruck. Strnadica I believe has to build fitness back up after coming back from injury, not sure how long that will be. Waterman would be the one to make way for Allen, he hasn't been able to cement his spot despite all the outs which is disappointing. Allen will not be risked in the ruck anymore, way too valuable as our next key forward for the next decade. When fit, I think Allen & Darling will be the 2 key fwd targets that play each week - JK I expect to have regular rests, especially for away games. Williams & Dixon can both play as key fwds along with rucking/ we have often played 3 tall fwds in the past so even when JK plays I can see room for both Dixon & Williams in the team.
The thing that really surprised me with Dixon was how good he was at ground level when in the ruck late in the game, no doubt that would of really impressed Simmo which adds further to his job security.
Dixon ground work was excellent, really stood out. Also thought Hayes was similar although less opportunities the week before. Will be interesting who to play at R2 this week, thinking Hayes against GC with Ryder suspended.

Simmo mentioned that all the rucks are fit on 7 news tonight (Luke Strnadica was mentioned too), JJK was going to be rested for Collingwood game, maybe could be rested this week given 6 day break again (me guessing) and Oscar Allen a possible to play.

2245, with Cripps (c) hurts like a lot of others.
30 trades left. Thought of trading
Bowey, Xerri, Stephens > English,
NOD & a fwd Rookie then cover Cripps with Brodie via dpp. Now thinking just Stephens to Dixon, given his JS and cash cow . This short term replaces Brodie who goes to Mid or gives back up Ruck coverage if needed,
Save 2 trades and get price increases on Bowey & Xerri, albeit maybe not a lot more.

Can anyone help me rank these three please? I need to get some cash gen into my team. Stupidly traded out Berry and Rachele last week. I'll probably only be able to get one of these guys. Everyone's talking up NOD after his big game, but could the others end up making more money?
  • O'Driscoll - came on late as the sub in his first game (scored 18), but has gone 49 and 104 since. 27th pick in the draft a couple of years ago?$167.7k now, d/m.
  • Erasmus - Scored 58, 70. 10th pick in the 2022 draft. $166.8k, mid only.
  • Dixon - Scored 42, 61, 96. JS sounds very shaky, but should be a bit better with NicNat out for a while. $164.4k now, r/f. My ruck line is Grundy-Preuss-Hayes, with no r/f fwd, so this could be handy.

NOD
Dixon
Erasmus….

NOD has shown enough in his three games ( including the sub 18 in his first) to show he is in best 22….
has def/ mid DPP which is crucial when Daicos gets defensive eligibility in round 6…

Dixon good job security with NN out however we also have Hayes/ Pruess/ Xerri/ Jackson etc on that line so not as vital in your team…. Will still score well however

**Owner of Dixon**
Didn't see the WC coast game, but Dixon would seem to be playing well and his JS just went up. No brainer

Of the two Freo boys, NOD just looked so good in a very SC friendly role. His 17 in round 2 was when he was on as a late medi-sub and with that score falling out of his average he goes up plenty for the next two weeks. I would think 60-80 is the range he will normally score in as not every team uses the ball as poorly inside 50 as the Giants, however he will ton up again this season as his work rate and ball use are first class. The DPP is also a big bonus, and I will be trading him in, it's the out that's difficult.

I barely noticed Erasmus, and I suspect he's first out if Freo get some players back. Unless you are desperate for a downgrade i'm not sure he's worth a trade right now.

Anyone looking at Alex Witherden as being a slightly underpriced Cripps replacement?

Interesting trade scenario this week. Will possibly roll with.............

Cripps to Preuss. Yep, I know about his suspension, but this saves a trade for next week. -91 B/E, plenty of money to make while sitting at R3.
Sinn to Sicily. In some strife with defenders and the round 12 bye. Wanted to jump on Sinclair last week but just cannot afford to run another round 12 defender. This also allows me to hold Hinge if it's just a corky.
Why has 27yo Sinclair jumped up in scoring, averaging 116, when his past 7 seasons highest avg was 86?

In a word... no.

I think if you're moving Cripps it's for a 22 game keeper (well, 18 from here at least) or a rookie. Can't get up to a super mid?
Yeah I can. I think I'd prefer to get my D6 off the field though.

If Witherden can average 95+ I think at 480k it's a reasonable return. Helps free up a little more money to spend on a depreciating topline midfielder in a few weeks.

Doesn't look like many defenders will go much better than 110 this year anyway so the gap shouldn't be that significant.
