Strategy 2022: Round 6 Trades

Oliver’s BE is 174 this week, maybe wait a week or 2.

Had a proper look and can do Steele or Miller this week, probably Steele with some doubts about Millers fitness and then Oliver cheaper next week.

I don't think it's a given he will even make more than his current R3 alternative in S. Hayes.

Hayes at high 70's will make around the same as Preuss at 95. Hayes allows me to make 3 upgrades with 6 trades over the next 2 rounds - Preuss does not (or reduces the quality). Hayes is the standout number 1 ruck in his team, Preuss has more competition. Preuss could fall apart at any time. Yes, there is the going early factor if getting Hayes this week, so it depends a bit on your upgrade/downgrade cycle. I personally am happy to go early on him because of what it allows me to do.

Different story as R2 as you want the extra points that Preuss probably brings.

Preuss will be at R2 with English forward in my side, will also bring in Hayes next week probably for Dixon. Both should be great cash makers. Trade off is lose the link, but hopefully get that back after the byes with a floating donut.

What are Ridley owners doing?

Slowly bleeding points and cash and to trade him now would allow a midfield upgrade, but there are no obvious weak points in my team and I can just upgrade around him.

Team seems to look stronger with him in there but of course that's contingent on him breaking out of this funk.

Ownership sits at 17% (down from 22.6% at Rd 1) so do people think he can turn it around, or are they just sticking to the mantra of "don't trade uninjured premiums"?

I have got both Ridley and Whitfield stinking up my team. But normally I just ignore them in upgrade season.

Upgrade around them get the worst rookie off field and revisit around bye time or when team fully upgraded, yes they maybe lost some cash but they could also come good.

Pity both have the first bye as would have been handy swapping them to someone who had already had the bye.

Really struggling between these guys on who to bring in this week, with a view to bring in Oliver next week with 2 trades.

- Smith: Can he be trusted to be top 10 mid? Is 4 Dogs too many in one team? Low price enables Oliver more easily next week.
- Petracca: Scoring can be a little inconsistent but Dees have great draw, is Gawn/Oliver/Petracca too many Dees? Lower price.
- Steele: Seems back to ultra consistent scoring, want him eventually, has lost $50k. Would make Oliver next week difficult.

If anyone can help me split them that would be great!

1/. Bye structure: Which suits best
2/. Injury History: Not really an issue for these 3 but Smith does have a "personal issues" history
3/. Gut: If in doubt go with your gut.

IMO: Steele > Trac > Smith

Have looked at him but with guys like Xerri/Brodie and rookies like Martin/Rachele do we really need him up forward?
I think the answer this year at the moment is no.

Maybe look at Gibcus (Daicos to defence & onfield) DP Rachele to Mids/ English Fwd, Preuss to rucks.

Stephens > Rosas via Martin

Rowell > Petracca or other premium mid

Yep just realised i missed Oliver 🤣🤣

Thats a solid trade plan but it only gives me enough coin to afford Lipinski
(does it count as an upgrade if its 2 similar priced players but one has a better chance of being a fwd keeper?)

Damnit Flynn playing really throws a spanner in the works! Is it worth using a trade to get him on field instead of Rachele? Don't think it's worth getting him for the bench given Hayes is 80k cheaper and has better JS

Yeah I’m not sure if Preuss is worth it over Hayes if he’s splitting ruck duties. Can Preuss go higher than 75 if sharing ruck duties? I don’t think so.

Yeah that sounds nice but I'll be flying all weekend again so no looping for me unless it's Friday to Saturday - Saturday is a write off at this stage

Yeah I'm thinking the same. That combined with history of injury and suspension and the extra $100k goes along way next week.
