Supercoach has officially open for 2023, so it's time to put together your team and seek feedback. Please be respectful and give some detail when providing critic of players and/or structure.

Good luck starts with good choices.

Let's see whether we can emulate our BBL success with a battle for the top prize in AFL in 2023.

:)

Wow Russty you have been looking over my shoulder . I have Jackson in stead of Rozee and an uber for Daicos even your bench is mighty close. I think we will see a lot of these cookie cutter teams Grundy/cameron is only till the real deal comes probably Witts.not sure i know Allison ? We have taken a risk going M5 Hopper leaving 3 mid spots to nuffies but there appears to be plenty of good players available with js ,such as Phillipou etc who knows we could have completely different teams very quickly love to get Fyfe in there but how? good luck watch your trades lol Changed Bont to Neale for bye structure

It looks pretty stock to be honest, but with a lot more pricey rookies than feels normal. If there ends up being good cheapies I'll take them instead and rationalise some of the other picks to find another FWD or DEF premo (things like English down to Cameron; Miller maybe down to Green etc.).

What do you think Jackson can average this year Neil? won't he basically have the same role as he did with Maxy?
I reckon if Fyfe is looking good to go round 1 I might punt Yeo for Jones or a rookie and get him in, it'll be hard if Yeo is looking good too though haha. I checked my byes, first 2 rounds I'm fine , the last 2 missing about 3 in each game to score 18 so not too bad.
36 trades this year, I went pretty aggressive early last season hence got off to a bit of a flyer and had a decent year for a change lol. Still don't want to run out though.

Thoughts legends? no doubt will change depending on rookies and roles for some players! Also exactly $0 left in kitty feelsgood.jpeg

Still 51 days out and a lot of teams are already looking very similar and mines included in that lol.

With 36 trades and so many higher priced rookie options (currently no J Bruce, Jones, T Cole) and midpricers (currently no Fyfe & Sheed) I can see myself going really aggressive and seeing what happens. I always finish around the 5-20k mark so looking to break into the top 5k.

At this stage I’ve gone T Thomas over Fyfe. But if Fyfe gets through preseason unscathed then he will be in my side. Every chance I go both.

Also burned so many ruck trades last year almost certainly will be starting Cameron up fwd and see what happens.

Himmilberg training with the FWD. Thats a concern.

Cannot see Dean starting RD1. Arlo Turning a few heads during match sims.

Risky MID Structure.

Good Luck

I'll kick things off.

I think the defence line is high risk. You don't have any solid premiums to underpin a couple of speculative pics like Young, Daicos and Himmelberg. Fo me I like to have at least one of the Doc, Dawson, Sicily, Stewart group etc that you can pretty much just set and forget for the season. I like both Young and Daicos but probably just one for me. Himmelberg is training with the forwards which is a red flag for me. His record forward and in defence is chalk and cheese - monitor for me.

Mids - I'm a fan of at least 4 big guns. This is where the points come from early and it hurts watching other teams pull 140+ from one or two of these guys and you don't have them plus they're usually your captain/VC options. Parish is a good unique IMO, not sold on Sheed at this stage

Rucks and forwards no issues for me but probably a little heavy forward IMO, there's some value in rookies so at least there's plenty of cash to find in your team.

I like it, solid structure and good distribution of points on each line. Darcy and Green probably be somewhat uniques from the vanilla teams that'll be doing the rounds.

Hey guys, would love any thoughts you have on my current team. Happy to elaborate on any picks and structure.

Like Vic says I like it also. Interesting to see if rookies can support a defence like that but it does allow for a strong forward line where essentially all those F1-F4 could be solid midfield point scorers. Nice

I Like it. Solid Structure

Didnt realize Emasmus was that cheap, and will now be a preseason watch.
Been reading Freo's match sim reports and he's getting a fair run in the midfield rotations and is also competing for Acres wing spot. Decent WAFL scores last year as well, definitely one to add to the preseason watchlist.

Thanks, I like all those defender rookies at the moment hopefully they can hold up over the preseason.

I'm least sure about Yeo and Bowes. Yeo should be good if he can stay fit playing HB at the Eagles but it's hard to know if he will and not sure on Bowes JS or the exact nature of his role, sounds like it will be mostly mid with wing/defence based on an interview he did today.

I do only really love the Dawson and Daicos picks as premiums, which why I've gone both for now. Open to picking Young but then I feel like I'm picking three guys to break out into upper premium territory in Daicos/Young/LDU and that feels a bit much.

Don't really love paying that much for King off an ACL considering previous scoring but not sure who else to pick for now who has as good a shot playing R1.
