Bont apparently injured his ankle in Rnd 1 last year, then hurt his shoulder, and played hampered by injury for most of the year.
Losing Dunkley would surely mean more mid time for a fit Bont,he’s not really a like for like replacemen for Weightman, but as was said, it is Bevvo !

Yes makes things hard re: Chandler and McVee. I’m at a loss as to who the 22nd and 23rd players will be for round 1 in light of this news. Both Woewodin and Laurie played the final practice match so they’re in the frame. Then there’s Jordon who didn’t feature but is a likely inclusion. Doesn’t sound like JVR is ready. Perhaps Hibberd will play along with McVee.

Anyway, extremely likely that both Chandler and McVee play and avoid being the starting sub for round 1 at least.
