Went Marshall to Witts the other day after Lyons comments… considering going back now that Campbell is emergency. Especially considering if you go with 2 rucks, Freo is one of the teams to do it against
Exact same thought process as you. I’ve gone back, at 500k, with Campbell not named it’s worth the risk IMO.
RoMo has Dogs and then Bombers the next two games, makes no sense to run two rucks against Draper and English.

Cameron scored 108 against Nank last year in one of those games that argues SC isn't so accurate at scoring performances properly. As I recall, Darcy was soundly beaten and eventually got a rep for being a bit weak against bigger and nastier rucks, which is fair enough.

Anyway, it was another reason for me to wait on Darcy > Darcy.

Part of the reason I'm considering keeping Darcy - Goldstein was ruck scoring kryptonite last year and I don't know that anything has changed so it might be a one off.
In round 8 last year they played against each other :-

Darcy had a monster game scoring 178 SC. Goldy certainly got his revenge os Sat pm

Other than Darcy last year, the only opposing rucks that went above 100 when Goldy was the main ruck were Witts and O'Brien, and both split the honours in two games each (one game above 100, one game below). Even Gawn only got 89.

Agree with this. I’m quite surprised he hasn’t been more popular given we now have 36 trades. That’s a pretty significant safety blanket for his only real downside as I see it.
I wonder if some of the talk is a bit of a tactic designed to discourage others from also starting the same "POD" player, probably not.
Nonetheless, being gullible and naïve I took this injury fear onboard and started with Gawn, then replaced him with Cameron who now has to be replaced with English so let that be a lesson...although, I am cursed.

I think that can happen, but hopefully not on SCS. Maybe a few owners just went quiet rather than actively flagging his downsides.

I've often thought this when I've seen people actively talking down a player only for them to appear in their team when they do the post round review. Happened more so in BBL though so probably less an AFL SC issue.
That said, I reckon the site does an outstanding job of managing poor behaviour, and required sources for things is amazing given the prevalence of people to float injury rumours (maliciously or not, still not ideal).

I also think we have to be careful not to judge too early - I am one who is still really hesitant to trade in English as I am a firm believer in his injury risk and feel like having missed the past few mega scores makes it even sillier to lean in on that risk now - if I'd started him I could have taken the good scoring potential and then just copped the correction trade when the injury happened, but now it feels like I'm potentially investing 2 trades on him. But the right move won't be known for a few weeks still.. if he gets injured this week the injury doubters feel good.. if he gets to the byes averaging 120, we will feel pretty sick!

Still not decided - weighing up English, Witts, Grundy alongside some left field options like Flynn and Nank, so I may end up as "one of those people" but it's a genuinely tough call.

Everywhere English. People forget he was a midfielder until the last year before he was drafted when he shot up 10cm. I like both English and DC because they play like midfielders
In 2019/20 I basically decided that after Gawndy, English would be the ruck I always picked; yet somehow I haven't ever started him. More pain to me.

Don't see any other option than English, unless I go for a Nank or etc. Witts is too expensive.
