Hickey is listed as 2-3 weeks.

How do the Swans Supporters see Amarity role when Hickey returns. Does Ladhams become 2nd Ruck and play KPP forward or does Amarity get the nod.

Watch the reply of the Swans game, Amarity looks good around the ground and is half way decent at the stoppages. Could be a POD Cow for a few weeks.

Not a Swans supporter but Ladhams won't play when Hickey is back.

Amartey is essentially facing McLean for the job as 3rd tall forward / secondary ruck.

I do think a bad game (or more likely two bad games) would see Amartey out of the team, but he's also the first player in if any of Buddy/McDonald/McLean are injured.

Would be interesting to know if WC and Freo have suffered more injuries than the average since 2018
Freo were destroyed by injuries in 2018 and 2019, sheer number and the players out. Leaving out the COVID years for the anomalies they threw up, 2022 and so far this year Freo had very small injury lists.

By contrast, 2022 and 2023 WC have been hit hard. 2018 they won the GF and had a few key players out at times (notably NN for the GF) but otherwise reasonable numbers.

In my opinion, it's team/training/process related. Freo changed their head of S&C in 2021.

Thanks.Might be worth a shout over next few weeks. Price is only concern.

I'd expect there's something more to it than just bad luck. There's been too many injuries two years in a row to put it to all down to just being unlucky. Poor conditioning / recovery / fitness, ground conditions, something would be contributing.

I think it's a combination of things... It's pretty well known our Fitness and Strength & Conditioning staff haven't been up to scratch these last few years. The club has addressed this in the off-season by bringing in new staff, Fitness has improved a lot in just this short period already but in reality it takes several off-season's to fix.

The Eagles training base... Mineral Resources Park, and Optus Stadium are both on the hard side as playing surfaces so that could also be a contributing factor too.

The constant soft tissue injures are the ones that are likely preventable and due to poor conditioning... We have had a ton of bad luck though with collision injuries, a lot of bad ankles that have seen players miss long stretches, I don't think those type of injuries are anything but bad luck.

BZT looks ready to come back. (Watch out Ridley owners) Walla training but doubtful unless he's sub again - even then. Guelfi out for 4-6.

We found goals early in the season, but don't see where they come from now other teams have seen the little we've got left in terms of strategy and personnel. Guelfi is one more forward footsoldier down. It was nice seeing things up top of the ladder for a couple of weeks.

Etihad or whatever is a shocking surface for soft tissue injuries for home clubs, especially Esssendon who haven't had the the best Fitness and Strength staff for a while either. Our injury record is not good reading. The move to Docklands has been disastrous on so many levels.

2 flags in 23 seasons from teams based at docklands (and you could argue that 2000 didn't have a list with an accumulation of fatigue from playing on concrete). Given that something like 25% of the league plays the majority of their home games there it seems a bit of an anomaly....
