If Setterfield misses I'm just about spent I reckon .
I was just saying this to my mate too. Too many hits in too little time. Easily the earliest I’ve ever been “out” in a season. Setterfield availability probably doesn’t change that in all honesty, just one of those years.

She’s a rough mistress at times.

It hasn't been that bad at all really.

I know people that started Stewart, Kelly, Steele, Darcy Cameron etc. and are still ranked inside the top 10K because they just corrected to the best value options before price changes. These injuries have barely hurt them.

Most people covered Hopper with a big score from Baker/Mackenzie.

Injuries only really matter when it kills a players price and disrupts your upgrade momentum in Rounds 6 to 15. What has happened so far is nothing compared to that.

Never mind guys, I was wrong it hasn’t actually been that bad apparently. Thanks for clearing that up for me

I was just trying to offer some balance - but I'm quickly learning this forum doesn't respond well to anything that challenges the "groupthink" (y)
Do as much as you can, to offer alternatives to what appears to be the group think approach. We actively encourage people to do that.
However, teasing/baiting/belittling is something we stamp out immediately. That is not offering anything constructive, and it is not tolerated here at SCS.

To your first bolded point, speak for yourself. As far as popular players go, so far this season we've had the Stewart injury on 18, Jones injury on 5, the Kelly injury, the Fyfe poor score and Laird poor score with a lot having him as captain for round 1. Round 2 we've had Gawn go down on zero and Steele get injured too. Round 3 we've had Cameron get injured towards 3QT thus missing out on a predicted 30 points plus owners now having to burn a trade, some went Gawn to Cameron and others traded Darcy to him that round to rub salt in the wound. Then plenty were caught out with LDU being a late late out and the system crashing, some of whom had just brought him in that round. I've likely missed a few others. So I would strongly argue against your "It hasn't been that bad at all really" comment. Perhaps not for you, but it has been "that bad" for some.

Your second bolded point is really off the mark. Injuries matter at any point of the season, particularly medium to long term injuries and even more so when they happen very early in the game to premiums.

Correct. Actually the same height as Castagna.
I think it takes a bit of pressure off Lynch, and allows Riewoldt to push up to the flanks.
Don’t know why Cumberland didn’t play at the start of the season.
Ryan can ruck in the forward line, and Dimma said they’re grooming him as a forward.Probably Riewoldts last year,so I reckon they’d want to pump some games into him,for next year. Could be a worry in the wet weather though.
Hard to tell structures these days just watching games on TV when the majority of players are just (seemingly) 50 metres from the ball in a rolling maul.

Not sure if Richmond play a triangulation forward line at the moment.

Years gone by Caddy and even Dusty have played as a forward marking target.

Good chance Setterfield gets up. Don't quote me, but training reports have been fairly positive.

Thing is I don't think Setters is a player you're going to be able to rely on for the scores of the first couple of weeks. He'll make some $ for a bit though.

I really hope I'm wrong on the last point for the sake of my footy team, not my SC team.

My bad lads. Should know better than to feed the trolls. Back to the footy.

Couple more weeks of 90/100s from him and I’d be more than happy. Fingers crossed he turns out to be the short term cash grab many had hoped for.

Your second bolded point is just absolute rubbish. Injuries matter at any point of the season, particularly medium to long term injuries and even more so when they happen very early in the game to premiums.
Yeah look I completely disagree - premium injuries that occur during upgrade season are objectively worse and can be completely fatal to overall chances. You fall behind wasting trades on sideways trading injured premiums, while other teams are bringing in extra premiums instead. No-one is bringing in extra premiums yet.

I don't see an injury yet that has had the capacity to derail anyone's season with 21 rounds to go, 36 trades and before prices have changed. I mean even the big injuries from last week either increased in value (Cameron) or were generally covered by Baker/Mackenzie (LDU).

I'm actually seeing better teams from people that have been forced into injury trades, compared to those that have sat on their hands sticking with underwhelming healthy premiums like Macrae, Docherty, Ridley, Neale, Sean Darcy etc.

I just think people need a bit of perspective here - the game hasn't really even started yet.

Sometimes, but not always, it's good to reverse things, and then look at them again.
What if you reverse Ryan's last two scores, and he now reads: DNP, subbed 27, 72 BE -28?
I'm sure people would be looking at him in a completely different light. Yes, you can posit, that the most recent game being subbed points to possible JS/Sub problems in the future. But, would it be THAT much different, if the sub game was in Round 2?
If there were genuine reasons to sub him last week, that weren't necessarily performance/contribution related, one might think a R/F Cash Cow on the bubble was just what many teams needed/wanted this Round, especially with the Ruck carnage so far this season.
