Still also torn between Grundy or English. Had Gawn, went to Cameron, both got inj. Do i go Grundy with his good immediate draw and form plus the extra 108k itb, with the thought of sidewaysing him back to Gawn when the beard is ready & dropped, or just go English?

And that is my biggest concern or does he go back to his role off HB and Newman takes a rest with the Return of Walsh

Who makes way Hollands or Newman.? Someone else.?

I dont think i want to wait another week. Was really dreadful today, determined to cut my losses and find a way to bring in Stewart.
Acres for LOB
Kennedy for E Curnow
Walsh for.... 1 of JSOS/Honey/TDK

I think we'll find a way to rest someone rather drop a forward (or 2nd ruck) for Walsh/Kennedy, good problem to have.

Im with you he has to go, to many of his team mates are taking points from him. Sadd was the pick out of the carlton players. Im happy i made that move during the week and bought oliver in for him. Don’t think he will average a 100 this year atm his lucky to average 90-95 and from watching him pretty closely his lucky to do that.

I'm going Grundy because I believe he'll score great in the next 4 weeks or so, and to save the 100k, English is scoring well but could go down anytime. Not trying to be negative, it's a fact, I could afford any Ruck but would rather have some serious dosh left for next week rather than blow it all. If English is still going great in 4 weeks when Gawn gets back and hasn't gotten injured, maybe I'll flick Grundy to him or Witts, whoever is looking good. Ultimately it's up to you mate, that's just what I'm doing, not necessarily what you should do, trust your own instinct.

Not sure how you went with this decision.

I was pretty close to Grundy this week and it would have allowed Worpel to LDU. Held off, however, expect Grundy this week and potentially next week matches English, with always a chance English throws up a 100. Grundy should go 140 this week vs eagles.

My only challenge is English price could rise by same level Grundy does over next 5 weeks, really felt it needed to go more which is not a given.
Wouldn't bother me if you could go sideways to Gawn, yet, it needs Gawn to come in and play two games as main ruck for his score to bottom out. In that time Grundy could post 70's and drop in value from his peak.

Just became complex however still think if he helps an upgrade then it will be a win for next 4-6 weeks. Those of us hit with many injury trades are better saving one trade. English could get inured still, then so could Grundy.

How often in SC do we look back on the season and say, why didn't I just hang onto that guy a bit longer, after they have a few bad games and we offload them? I'm not sure what to do with him really, but I know I've already done too many trades lol
My problem is I hang on to the ones that keep bombing out, and get rid of the ones that make a recovery.

I reckon for me he's almost a tactical hold sadly.

Just say I think he averages 95 from here to the end. Sucky yes, but that's about the same value as paying $600k for someone who averages 110, which is pretty much what you'd expect Stewart/Sinclair/Sicily to average best case.

It costs you a trade and $80k to get those extra 15ppg... is it really worth it?
I'd say yes, it is worth it in that scenario.
Firstly he has to get back to scoring around 95.
Secondly, when completed, you're team is giving up that 15 ppg to sides with a proper D6.
It has the potential to make a 200-300 difference to your end of season score, so that seems worthwhile.
The big one to consider here is our enjoyment of watching footy and our state of mind if he continues to play like this 😱 So on that factor alone I will be trading him. At times there seems to be a reluctance to admit that a player is not playing well and just because he is a so called premo we are hesitant to trade him.

I dunno but every year the "never again" list seems to get bigger with more players that busted more coaches' seasons.

It will be interesting to see how Doc turns out. Might benefit from the game slowing down as it often does after the opening weeks

Can’t express how happy I am that Carlton finally drafted two ready made players from last draft. Hollands and Cowan have stepped in and haven’t missed a beat. Hollands once again ran and ran and ran all day long, goes hard all day and doesn’t stop, his defensive efforts are second to none. Pretty sure he’s topped the tracker in all 4 games so far, and ran about an extra km to 2nd place today. Cowan for a first year player has some of the best courage I’ve seen, puts his head over the every contest without hesitation and never backs down from a contest. We have two absolute gems on our hands and I expect them to both play majority of games this season. Going into this season I wasn’t sure where Hollands sat with LOB, but he’s made that wing his and it will be for a very long time.

Binns another draftee from last year, had 28 and kicked 2 in the VFL today, expect to see him be given a run at some point this year.
