I'm torn on sacrificing a guaranteed round 6 score from Sicily to bring Touk in, or moving off Tom Green for him, keep Sicily and not miss out on a full >90.
How did Sicily pull up after copping that knee in the back of the head from the Himmelberg spekky?

Yeah my personal view is the time for sideways trading premiums is over.

We should be focusing on upgrading rookies to new premiums and then slingshot any underwhelming premiums at the byes.

Ginbey/Baker/Ashcroft > Robert/Williams/Touk

If using Hollands over Baker, can substitute Matt Johnson for DWilliams

Alternative is double downgrade Baker and Hollands/Ginbey and wait a week.

Hold Green.

Need a FWD rookie, but none really stand out. Most mentioned are potential sub vest.
Any other coaches looking to hold Mackenzie and Baker..?
Am holding both MacKenzie and Baker for now. The 14 stuffed MacKenzie cash gen but he has two solid scores and hopefully can produce another one and get it going again.

This week looking at Cowan to Williams via Sheez and then Hollands to Roberts. Clearly hoping both are named. Trading Hollands works better for me as next week it could be Chesser out for Seamus Mitchell. With Mitchell already a D/F and Williams listed as a Fwd but playing Def it could be possible to have both of them and Ziebell/Sheez as D/F post Rd 11. Think that could be handy during byes or if new rookies are sparse later in the season.

But who knows what the fickle finger of footy will spin up this week.

Not sure I understand the love for Roberts.. BE is only -22 and I’d be slots back into that sub role he will make coins at best. Was clearly not best 22 given how the first few rounds unfolded.. and those low scores are a serious anchor around his neck.
Seems like a trap rookie that gets caught in a no mans land price with limited scoring upside.

Thoughts on bringing in Ziebell? Missed out on his rises, but still underpriced for his 100 average which you'd take at D6 surely.

Or would it be better to double downgrade for an uber premo upgrade next week?

BE is only -22 because of the two sub scores previous. A 50+ this week will see him with a much lower BE.

If he's out of the 22 this week, easy to avoid, but otherwise just hoping 2, maybe 3 games in a row without the sub vest and he'll make some nice coin.

It's been confirmed that Rampe/T McCartin will miss this week.

T McCartin should be back in Round 7 (concussion protocol) so yes there is the chance that Roberts is dropped then.

Firmly in my sights as a trade in for this round.

Annoyed I didn’t get on earlier but at 442k he’s still good value.

Yeah I think that’s my worry.. even if he makes $50k this week he could get stuck at a nothing price the following week. Just feels like one who has low prospects unless a lot of things go his way.

Yeah he is one I don’t mind.. certainly not an incredible “must have” pick but JS seems ok and he’s looked alright in the games I’ve seen. Certainly not a glowing review but if you needed a forward downgrade he’s the one I’d go with over Roberts.

Would anyone consider Parish?

I'm thinking Parish or spend all the rest for Miller. Thoughts or Parish+70 or Touk?

I’d consider him. He may come in for me next week. He has a BE of 116 but is playing in the Anzac Day Clash (where he won the medal in 2021) without Zach Merrett. Could be in for a very large score.

The first wave of rookies are starting to max out so I'll start on the next batch and continue building a war chest

Ginbey, Cowan and Baker all look to have slowed too far or stalled. Roberts, Johnson and Williams look decent enough to roll the dice on.

Boosts my bank to 669k which is a bit eye-popping. The temptation is to go for Touk or Neale instead of the 3rd rookie but I'm really concerned as to where the next phase of cash gen is coming from.

Each week that I don't have that cash spent costs me 40 points from being a premium down on field but if the rookies work, the payback in 5 weeks will be that I can afford to finish with better premos, making those points back and then some over the final 13 weeks.

Next week I'll probably grab Smitch from Chandler, if only for the link and might even take Wagner for Pou. That would leave me with 980k to spend, starting with Day, probably from Ashcroft, leaving 880k.

I'll then target the likes of Cogs, Sinclair, Sicily, Sprayshaw and a couple of uber mids. I've got 4 non-Ziebel MPs to help with that though will likely need a couple more downgrades to pull it all off. Might even trade back Into Macrae, Doc and Chesser(!!!) who ought to go better after his rest (hint hint Tom Green owners)
