Tempting to get one of the big midfielders this week, but can get two rookies off field if I go Cogs instead.

Ginbey, Baker, Chandler to Robert, Johnson/Williams, Cogs
leaves enough cash for Wilmont to Day next week.

Hoping Cogs top few in forwards and Day can hold down D6

Better defender to bring in this week out of Stewart v Sinclair?

Current lean is Sinclair - durability, $50k cheaper and next three games at marvel.

I'm just needing the cash to be honest. I don't particularly want to sell him but I'm looking a bit threadbare as I've got Green and Day giving me donuts this week. My reasoning is that I'm hoping to have Day in the back at the end of the season, so it's forced me to sell Hopper early.

It's a good point though, it's made me think. To get the team I want to work towards I might have to sell Ashcroft instead, which I'm thinking makes more sense.

Edit: Yep, I'm an idiot. This is why this forum is such a valuable resource for me, lol.
Don't force trades if you don't need to. There could be an argument to trade Ashcroft but he is one of the better scoring rookie midfielders. Address your weakest areas first.

Stewart many years of great scoring history best bye. Sinclair only one plus a new coach and game plan
Yeah I'm probably in the camp of not seeing a big difference between their scoring output from here. Actually averaging more disposals this year than last (less tackles) and role looks pretty good to me - should be even better with Steele back and less CBAs hopefully.

I started Stewart so possibly burnt by that experience also. Still think he's a great option though obviously.

7% ownership Sinclair so definitely bit of a POD. 13 consecutive tons at Marvel and plays his next three games there (11 more this season).

I'm also interested in people's thoughts. If he was 150k he'd be firmly in my sights, but the raised price gives me pause. Still, 21yo, who has previously had a game with >25 possessions, coming back from OP last year, gets an opportunity to lock himself in an injury riddled side.....there's certainly an argument that could be made that he's a better option than some.
I don't know much on him and hadn't been watching him in the game. Eagles have decent injury list and talk the 2nds vs East Fremantle may not occur due to lack of depth. Amount of injuries that are listed TBC on injury list makes it challenging to assess him being replaced.

With 3 more challenging games coming up and he is a $200k player with a couple of mid 60's, I would be a no. If this season has taught me, go the cheaper players once into upgrade season as every dollar matters.

My personal rank of rookies is Roberts, Williams and Johnson. I considered Johnson last week over JVR as Gawn back makes me nervous, however Johnson scoring power is poor at around 50 based on sub games, luckily he scored a late goal to from from 40's to 60's.
Thanks, fellas 👍
The main selling points for me were relative JS and potential ceiling, but looking closely at the role it is not as inside as it would probably need to be to warrant the elevated price despite WC's huge list of outs.

Not the trades I wanted to do, but I really have no choice.

Saad > Touk
Mackenzie > Roberts
Witts > English (wouldn't normally pay that price)

Witts may play, but he is late in the round, and only options after the GC game is Melb/Rich/Coll/Ess and I won't go on Gawn yet when he will potentially lose another $100k, and Grundy is uncertain now with his scoring IMO.

So much for using the Rd 6-10 period to upgrade. Rookies I have to cover Green and Saad just won't cut it, and have gone backwards in the past couple of weeks with Witts out. Still stuck with Ginbey, Baker, and Setterfield, etc who I initially was hoping to get rid of this week.

Debating
Ginbey/Baker/Callaghan - Roberts/Williams/Cogs +160k
or
Ginbey/Baker/Callaghan - Roberts/Williams/Cameron +70k
Not sure I want to be paying top dollar for Cameron….whilst in great form I would prefer to take Cogs who will deliver similar output and save you coin that can be spent on upgrading another rookie off field

Think I'm leaning towards taking Johnson and Williams and leaving Roberts. Looking at Sydney's injury list, just way too many players to come in over the next two weeks, even if none of them look like a direct Roberts replacement.

Williams should be safe with only Jonas really to come back in.
