Annoyed I can't get to Stewart or Touk, but happy enough with the below.

Baker > Roberts
Mackenzie > Johnson
Ginbey > Sinclair

Johnson vs Williams is tight, leaning MJ for now. Above trades leave a little cash for Hayden Young > Day next week which could be cool.

Few interesting option currently:

OPTION 1:
Cowan > Lloyd
Baker > Roberts
Davey > Williams

OPTION 2:
Cowan > Stewart
Baker > Roberts
Wilmot > Williams

Option 3:
Cowan > Roberts
Baker > Williams
Ginbey/Jones > Touk

Essentially:
Remove my 3 worst rookies, and grab LLOYD
Remove bench rookies and grab STEWART
Remove one playing rookie and grab TOUK (or anyone up to $660k)

I feel like option 2 feels right but Touk and Lloyd feel better value.
Would love some input!
Love option 3.

I'm always in favour of getting the guys you're most confident will be top of the position this early, as:

1. The longer you have the top players, the more points they are worth to you.
2. They are generally safer to stand the test of the entire season without taking up an extra trade.

There is heaps of time (and usually ample opportunity) to finish your team with value picks, but if you get too many of them now it means you might miss some gems as the season unfolds.

So that said, I would definitely go option 2 or option 3 - what is your cash position after each? Touk is definitely a strong trade in target for this round, but if that $50k difference in price impacts your ability to do an upgrade next week, then I'd go for Stewart.

Option 3 for me.

Touk is at a great price currently, has the perfect bye & a very nice draw upcoming.

Unless one of Johnson, Williams, Roberts is dropped I’m pretty set on this:

Chandler>Williams
Baker>Johnson
Hewett>Roberts

Gives me $322,400 bank which means I can do a 2 up 1 down next week. Looking at Miller, Stewart, Parish, Sinclair and Lloyd.
Don't fancy missing one and getting the premium in this week? I'd considered the same triple down but hard to pass up an extra week of premium scoring (Sinclair).

Thinking of doing the same as it increases the chances of getting the right one...it seems to transpire for me that, there can be only one!

Am having a little trouble choosing the outs though as the cash released just seem so minimal...trading out Caminiti, Long and Cowan only nets $279,000 when it should be closer to $450,000, very underwhelming for 3 trades and not very helpful.

Starting to wonder if I should just start trading in $102,400 value bench players to get the extra cash and just hope I don't need any cover, not that there is any guarantee that the current crop of rookies will be there anyway if you need them.
Probably not this round but I'm going to run out of trades trading rookies for no significant gain, oh well no gain much pain.

Hate the rookie options next week. Would rather cop one week of one less premo than most to have good rookies. I rate Roberts, Johnson, Williams more highly than any of the options next week. Those who are upgrading this week will likely need 2 of Mitchell/Wagner/Sturt/Warner/Gould which I don’t see ending well.

Trading in $102k donuts is pretty risky, you'll need the second wave of rookie upgrade/downgrades around the byes and some of them even playing to cover missing bye players. As you said there is no guarantee that the current crop of downgrade options will be in their teams for the long term, but there is far more chance than for $102k donuts.

Mitchell looked pretty good and played a really nice role. No guarantee on his JS though.

True, probably come the second wave of rookie upgrade/downgrades I can see myself using 2 or 3 $102 donuts including the likes of Cincotta even if he's not yet selected to play.

What the hell has happened to Ollie Wines? Will dip under $400k after this week, and with no signs that he is turning the corner he still doesn't look like a trade in option at that price!

Top 6 yes, I'm not convinced top 3 with any certainty myself. Has had two big scores yes but has also played the teams sitting 16th, 17th and 18th. He also comes with injury and tag concerns. Would anyone's opinion change if Ryan Clarke came in this week for Sydney? 27 disp in the reserves.

Might get Keays in two weeks also.
This interests me, what's your thinking regarding him picking up more mid time in the future?

Had knee surgery in the off season, had no preseason essentially so no real surprise at his slow start to the season.
