Thinking of getting some rookies off the field.. probably go with Davey, Wilmot and Cowan out for Day Mitchell and Wagner

Still have Roberts Chesser and Constable sitting there earning crap all though. Hoping to go Roberts to Cincotta next week if he scores ok.. only real plans ATM. Leaves the only rookies on field being McKenna Mitchell and Ashcroft (not including Sneezel as there is no way you could trade him yet)

Removing viable rookies after this week's rookie shambles seems priority.
Sheezel has made his cash. Seriously contemplating moving him on. Hall back etc

Does connor nash take some points of him as well as cba? Nash’s last 2 weeks have been pretty good.
Nash could actually benefit Day. Bigger body to crash the pack, keep the opposition bulls out of the way and let Day work his magic. Worpel to suffer the most.

I think there may be many people trading the beard in around Round 9 perhaps, with Goldy and Witts coming up, his price should be pretty nice about that time. Only trouble is I have Grundy. Think i will ditch Grundy this week and play rat at r2 until the return of Gawn, to my team.
I'm looking at doing the swap as well, but Grundy with a BE of 132 is expected to drop $11k (based on a score of 108) and I've got more pressing rookie issues so I'm happy to wait a week and do the trade then.

I don’t think 108 is a reasonable expectation for Grundy. If you downgrade Grundy to Teakle/Ryan on the expectation either can make $100k, and the balance is reinvested elsewhere I think you can come out at least, while reducing significant downside risk of Grundy stinkers. Albeit you could bring him in against Witts and only take the risk of one stinker…FWIW I’m not targeting Gawn unless he looks like getting forward status…which I’d need to be pretty darn sure of.

Not really sure which way to go

Onfield rookies :-

Sheezel , McKenna
Ashcroft , Hollands , Baker
Chandler , Phillips

All have reasonable BE's apart from McKenna , need to wait for Footywire to update to check future projections

Bench is a problem

Chesser , Madden, Roberts all worthless to trade.
Hoping Johnson makes money
Cowan & Davey slow burns
Greene & Wilmot doing ok.

Maybe :-

Cowan - > Mitchell
McKenna - > Day
Baker/Hollands/Phillips - > Coniglio

Thoughts ?

Probably Miller, Cowan & Wilmot - Ziebell, Treloar & Mitchell.

Like Treloar as a value/POD pick at 517k. If he keeps his CBAs 80+ I'm hopeful of 105-110.

Gonna have some fun with it for the rest of the season

Feeling a little brain taxed on trades for Rd 7. Originally had planned this

McKenna to Day
Pou to Smitchell
Phillips to Zerret

Would hold Touk this week and convert to Walsh next week

But now considering this is better.
Miller to Walsh
McKenna to Zerrret
MacKenzie to Smitchell

This leaves about $160 cash and for Rd 8 allows for a cash in a rookie and upgrade another with a possible 550-570k to spend depending on rookie scores and who I choose.

Anyone willing to enlighten me as my lightbulb is fading quickly:sleep:

All of this seems great in isolation, hope the rest of the team is rolling well Herbie!

Yep, I'm also running scenarios where I trade out Grundy and have Rat hold down R2 for a couple of weeks while I see what's happening on the Ruck front. I could also use the cash to get a couple of extra premos on the park.

Plodding along

Recognised a few rounds ago I was going to have cash generation problems so brought in Haynes & Hawkins.

May even end up with a Boak , Lyons , McCluggage , Wines type @ M8

Lacking some heavy hitters but will see what happens

Daicos , Ziebell , Rioli , Haynes
Bont , Cripps , Green , Titch , Hopper
Darcy , Marshall
Taranto , Dunkley , Rozee , Hawkins

Probably just need to milk every $ I can from the rookies and see what happens

I think Steele could be the value M8 pick.

I think you’re alright, better if than in many other seasons, your rookies, while not without their problems are okay. After these two upgrades really focus on quality and getting the timing right both in the sell side and buy side. Dawson and Oliver have given us a glimmer of affordability hope this week.

Ryan still a viable cash cow?

Even though he scored 109 this week, I have very little faith in Oscar Mac... Yes I have him..

Considering going down to Ryan for some cash gen for later trades.

Am I being stupid?
