The ins are the easy bit this week - Day and Mitchell.

The issue is how to fund it.

Given the rookie troubles at the moment I'm not inclined to let Ashcroft or Ginbey go yet, and Sheezel gets one more go to see if the role comes back. That leaves the following realistic options:
McKenna (BE 62)
Callaghan (unsure BE but should be around 20)
Hollands (BE 31)
Phillips (BE 45)
Wilmot and Cowan would also appear here but that doesn't give me enough in combination with any of the above.

Probably wait to see if Phillips is named and go from there.

Probably a double down next week so the real riff raff can go then.
Should be McKenna & Cowan/Phillips from the above

I think you’re alright, better if than in many other seasons, your rookies, while not without their problems are okay. After these two upgrades really focus on quality and getting the timing right both in the sell side and buy side. Dawson and Oliver have given us a glimmer of affordability hope this week.
Big wait and see on my bench rookies and whether they can generate enough dollars (obviously also comes down to if and when future bubble boys actually appear)

Have had the notebook and calculator going full speed.

On current values trading Wilmot , Cowan , Baker & Davey down to $ 123,900.00 players will give me $ 431,200.00.

Hopefully they keep making money.

Unknown at the moment how much cash Johnson & Mitchell can/will generate.

Chesser & Madden both "dead".

7 onfield rookies at the moment (2 will become Coniglio & Day this round) :-

Sheezel
McKenna

Ashcroft
Hollands
Phillips

Chandler
Greene

On their current values to upgrade them to $ 500k premiums (obviously M6-8 will be more expensive) I will need $ 1,300,500.00.

Coniglio fits the bill , hopefully Day can continue/maintain his scoring.

This will decrease if players prices continue to rise.

Then need to take into account my current Bank and future cash from downgrade trades.

As much as I would like both Dawson & Oliver in my completed side realistically it might not be achievable, time will tell.

But yes definitely have my eyes on them and other fallen premiums , all comes down to timing

Mitchell feels a bit like a trap with Will Day coming back. Hawks supporters thoughts?

Mitchell must've had a big second half/final qtr, I thought I looked at one stage and he was scoring poorly.

Don't think Wagner will hold his spot over Wilson myself.

Looking at Wilmot and Jones out, for Mitchell and maybe Cincotta. Cincotta has similar JS issues to Wagner, but think he'll be ok in the short term (also $20K cheaper)

Would love to grab Tom Stewart this week too, but think I'll fall just short of it from EVR (who hasn't peaked and has North Melbourne next week too)

If loops go well (Williams Game 1) - I might pull the trigger on Hollands > Stewart, who's been solid but just can't get a spike score.

Probably still lots to play out!
Disciplined would be just one trade:
Wilmot > Mitchell

However I think I'm going to be "aggressive" and go:
Wilmot > Mitchell
Liam Jones > Cincotta
Hollands > Stewart

Jones/Hollands have BE's of 28 and 31 respectively, so should make another 10-15K this week each. Obviously grabbing Stewart should net me more points this week, which would be my preference. I could also move one of Magor/Roberts to Day instead of Hollands > Stewart, but I'm more confident on Stewart and want a Cats/Suns player for their bye round.

Wagner getting named would throw a slight spanner (assume would just grab him instead of Cincotta) but I still think he's gone from Freo's 22 this week :censored:

I don’t think 108 is a reasonable expectation for Grundy. If you downgrade Grundy to Teakle/Ryan on the expectation either can make $100k, and the balance is reinvested elsewhere I think you can come out at least, while reducing significant downside risk of Grundy stinkers. Albeit you could bring him in against Witts and only take the risk of one stinker…FWIW I’m not targeting Gawn unless he looks like getting forward status…which I’d need to be pretty darn sure of.
Great point….I am hoping Gawn gets updated ruck /fwd status in round 12 which creates a perfect loop with Esava coming into the byes….

Is Will Phillips a trade out? Seems Clarko is not a fan.
Not sure we can say Clarke isnt a fan..only subbed on in game one and subbed out in Q3 of round 6 after failing to touch the ball for the quarter ( May have had a slight niggle)…

Would still hold faith for another week or two and reassess then…still plenty of cash to be made.

Seamus has taken Scrimshaws role in backline and Day back will have no impact…
I liked that Mitchell played Scrimshaw forward on the weekend as another option….helps with the job security for Seamus…

Caution, meet wind... :devilish:

Dawson -> Day
Will Philips -> Cogs
Bytel -> Mitchell

Too much of the crazy?
Very left field option Dawson to Day- whilst you save a tonne of cash that allows your team to upgrade quicker I think you lose points on field and Day has a poor injury history….hope I’m wrong but think he is a trap

I think I'm still on tilt from the weekend's results and using the forum to vent crazy trade plans... so I hopefully don't end up making them in real life.
I’ve done the expensive premo out move a few times now. Would probably deem half of them as successful.

I think it’s definitely worth considering if it gets you another premo that you would otherwise not be able to get in the next week or two. Very team/situation dependent for whether it would be worthwhile, obviously depends how you see Dawson scoring too.

Any other decent bubble rookies besides Mitchell?
Sturt and Wagner from Freo, though some suggest JS is shaky for Wagner.
Long from the Hawks?
Will Gould is on the bubble 🤣 if you love the romance of the forgotten man!

but the word ‘decent’ has different meanings to everyone.
JS, scoring role, coaches pet 😂
I'm probably only taking Smitch.
Sturt did make 100 on debut 3 or 4 years ago, so has the scoring potential.

For those wondering who to buy this week....there are a couple of non bubble boys of interest, perhaps McLean...who only just his his BE.

The bubble boys and a couple on non bubbles like Williams.

And for round 8 consideration or for those with a penchant for going early.

Good ones, perhaps Long and Sturt.... beyond the Wagner/Mitchell popular ones. I still like the idea of Williams if named onfield.

If in doubt take the dual position player.

After a really strong week (2335) I've got a couple options to hopefully build on the scoring:

1. McKenna + JHF > Mitchell + Ryan (+$14,000)

2. Wilmot, McKenna, JHF > Mitchell, Wagner, Ryan (+$148,000)

3. Jones, Wilmot, Mckenna > Mitchell, Wagner, Serong (+$13,900)

Option 1 feels safe with questions on Wagner, but option 2 gives me the cash to be able to go Jones + Callaghan > Cincotta and Oliver next week / at least have more flexibility.

Option 3 keeps JHF who's scoring is probably better (hopefully) than Wilmot, McKenna and Jones, but means I'd miss Jones price rise and also cop JHFs price drop - likely a $20-$30k swing.

All dependent upon teams, but I'm probably leaning towards option 2 currently.
