Traded Laird to Walsh for a nice result, eliminates any issues for the last game of the round. Ratugolea, Witts, De Goey, Naicos, Taranto and Dawson to play, Pendles on the bench, chanting at the bit ready to go out there next round.

Moved up 36 spots, top 41% isn't much to gloat about. All I know that for this format the midpricers definitely assist and I haven't moved quick enough to improve my team. Anyway with plenty of trades I should be able to set myself up in the backend of the season, hoping to improve on last year.

Looking at going:

Greene > Angwin (man I wish I held Greene in SC, was too impatient)
Setterfield > Anderson/Laird/Steele/Trac/Serong/Walsh

My lean is Anderson, with the best bye round and no Touk. If I knew Laird was 100% fit, I'd rather him, but I think the disciplined thing to do would be to wait until after his bye round. Adelaide coach did just say it was general fatigue for Laird though.

Walsh has the worst bye round, but will hurt watching him run around and dominate. The team in 2nd (great team too) has him, but I'm going to resist with underdone pre-season and tougher draw incoming.

Thoughts on the following, please.

Jayden Short - 117 & 123. BE probably around 61. Got Eagles next.

Andy Brayshaw - 113 & 99. BE around 91. $150k drop. Surely it's a bottom from here?

Angus Brayshaw - 80 & 95. BE around 58. MEL still with a good run of 4 games. $230k drop. Surely it's a bottom from here?

I would definitely wait on Angus Brayshaw unless you think he’s had a role change. Even his best scores of the season are a pair of 90s, which is around what I’m looking for my defenders to average.

Short could be great, but it would be nice to see Richmond settle him back in the role that makes him an Uber premium for a bit longer.

Andrew Brayshaw is apparently fit again, which could be a big plus. I am always a bit wary of relying on that sort of revelation after the initial injury was concealed, which I believe it was, but he’s more attractive than he would have been if they hadn’t made those comments. He is probably the one I would lean towards this week.

Thanks Darkie. I'm feeling lucky but will desist as I'm burning through too many transfers.
Have gone the safer picks of Sinclair and Petracca (hope they're safe ).

Probably going for Steele next week. Thoughts on him?

As long as you’re building your cash gen pipeline, or upgrading, I wouldn’t worry too much about using up trades. It would be customary to be using 2 trades a week at this point before we had boosts and trades went from 30 to 36, and the changes marginally reduce the value of a trade in my view.

Steele was one of the best in the comp in 2021, so his quality is very high subject to role and fitness. Personally I’d like to see one more good SC score from him before I get him in that format, but I think he’ll be a popular upgrade this week, perhaps with a fraction more risk than normal fitness wise.

North Melb.
Doing much better in this format than Supercoach. 2,417 last week and moved into 292nd overall. Think i'll go Phillipou and Cowan to Parish and Angwin. No boosts and 17 trades left. Ashcroft, Chandler, Pedlar and Cincotta the only guys on field averaging less than 90 (ignoring Stewart) so hopefully can finish my side.
