You are less than 100 points behind tenth. You can’t change what unfolded last round, so I am sure you that you will refocus and turn things around quickly. You got to the top of the pile through making smart decisions, so don’t let one bad round make you second guess yourself.
Yeah was a tough round, but before the season started, I'd have jumped at the chance to be 20th with 2 rounds to go.

So I'm not dwelling on it... Just got to hope the 50/50s come off this round!

653 (Sutherland) (12 Si @54.42)

Ranking up 33 (941 to 908)

Just plodding along, but on track for a top 1,000 finish all things going well.

Traded in Neser over Johnson (ironically as Neser I thought was the better chance to score runs) so that one did not go to plan.

Won 7 of 8 league matches, actually thought the ranking improvement might have been better, I guess there were more teams with Short/Warner/Smith than I thought.

Happy to get that little extra bonus from Zampa, made up for the loss of points when Hobson stepped on the rope, removing the wicket for Behrendorff and catch to Connolly, so swings and roundabouts I guess.

This week Maxwell to Short and also David/Chaudhry and Meredith, probably other outs will be Thornton and Stoinis.

Will re-assess as the round goes on, but happy to get 2 games out of Short v Maxwell 1, (have 50k ITB) before trades, so not a great stretch to get Short this week.

Likely team for Rd 8

Harper (Billings*)
Short, Neser, Connolly, David/Chaudhry, Wade (Shaw, Christian*)
Rogers, Sutherland, Jordan, Meredith, Zampa (Bethell*, Manenti)
Behrendorff

Will loop Billings and Christian tonight and assess trades as we go through the round.

Well done to all with good results and to those who may not have gone so well, remember a week is a long time then it comes to BBL ;)

Must have Hurricanes for the double?
I have Jordan, Chaudhary, Owen, Meredith and Stanlake (POD) atm.
Am i missing someone? don’t want wade as both openers is too risky
I guess it depends on how much DGR exposure you want, already got 5, is that enough? DGR exposure can sometimes be a double edged sword with performance and weather factored in.

David/Ellis are probably the ones you may be missing, but I have questions as to how long he can keep it up (David that is)???

Already have Chaudrauy and Jordan, not sure about David as too many middle-late order batters doesn’t usually end up well

I’d say I’m anti-podding Ellis but it doesn’t seem like too many people are getting him

Any news of is Mitch Marsh likely to be rested again this round? You'd think with Scorchers needing to win their last 2 games to make finals and Richardson being out he'd play🤞🤞🤞

News I heard was he was staying home to rest and not heading to Sydney... but that may have changed with the Richo injury.

Played: D Warner (C), C Green, M Wade (new recruit), N Chaudhary (new recruit), H Kerr, M Neser, C Overton
Yet to play: T Rogers, T Seifert, W Sutherland and M Stoinis

Ended up using the last trade on Zampa down to Buckingham to free up $60+k to possibly help grab an Abbott/Richardson/M Short type next round to replace Tye. Edwards score drops out of the 12 and had to bank one of Kerr/Tye to take the Warner VC. Hopefully in a good position to halve the rank again and sneak inside the top 100.

BBL SC is a funny game.

Sam Harper and Adam Zampa are two players I wanted to trade out after round 1.

Both looking increasingly likely they’ll end up in my team in the final round.
As a previous Harper owner I would try and avoid Harper if I could still if possible, was hard enough to get rid of him, I feel like there'd probably be something you can go for that you'd like without getting him. If it was a hold a bit tougher to know what to do with him though.

I'm looking forward to next season where we'll think Harper and Zampa are cheap...
To be fair at least Zampa had 2 good enough scores, 1 if you take into account getting bailed out at the end last match. Harper on the other hand I'm not touching with a 10 foot pole. Zampa I'll probably try and avoid as well still but wouldn't rule it out.

poor Harper , 6th on aggregate for Bat/WK , on the Bye and people still want to trade him out

$ 62,6 k not getting much bang for buck trading him out either

strong teams if he is one of the major issues
Got rid of him round 6 but it was forr Mcdermott unfortunately. Not sure if I'd get rid of him now but wouldn't be bringing him in.

I could understand maybe trading him in this round if someone needed a 🍩 , but if anyone would consider trading him in for any other reason it is well beyond my comprehension

Scored 691 for the week which saw me drop from 4th to 9th. 13 of the top 20 teams had M.Short with almost all captaining him. 270 points from first with top 3 also seeming to far away with a gap of 200 points. Warner, Maxwell and S.Johnson with the bat were the mvps of the week. Can't believe so many picked a bloke that was $250k coming off a broken too against one of the best bowling lineups in the comp and captained him too. Wasn't even a confirmed in 30 minutes before the game and was always not likely to bowl with his injury. Hard not to get annoyed having such a risky pick go against you but i guess a game with such high variance these picks can pay off. Also poetic that fading him helped me be ranked this high but will also likely be my undoing. Need to decide whether to continue to fade Short and Smith for Hurricanes players or cave and close off the pod. Hopefully get a better indication about Thursdays weather by tomorrow night before most of my team needs to be locked in.
