Just wanted to see how everyone was thinking in regards to the captain loophole selections this year..
last year I did use it a lot but I did no pre season planning for it so it really didn't work. So here is the list of premo's and how many Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday games they play.

Ablett has 15 Saturday and 6 Sunday games
Pendles has 1 Thursday, 5 Friday, 8 Saturday, 6 Sunday and 1 Monday games
Swan is obviously the same as Pendles.
Griffen has 7 Saturday and 14 Sunday games
Selwood has 2 Thursday, 4 Friday, 9 Saturday, 5 Sunday and 1 Monday games
Watson has 7 Friday, 9 Saturday and 5 Sunday
Danger has 2 Thursday, 1 Friday, 9 Saturday and 9 Sunday.

Sorry about the format before hope that's easier to understand..

It's difficult to plan for these because you also need to take into consideration their opponents and also who plays before who. For the most part I will be doing Pendles/Ablett, Ablett/Pendles :D

Interesting idea for a thread. I've never felt the need to plan for the captain's loophole. I think about it a lot each week, for the reasons that IDIG mentions (opposition, who plays before who), but not plan it even 1 week in advance.

Having thought about it, I think that is because I have Ablett and Pendlebury in my team, and 9 times out of 10, that is the loophole sorted! I will also have Dangerfield and Watson (or someone similar) to use as a backup in the first few weeks, until more premiums are traded in.

So my planning is to pick Ablett and Pendlebury. One less thing to worry about!

That is true, but I think when it comes to '' Super Pemos " they should score well enough for a decent VC score regardless who they play.. Sorry 1 factor the '' CROWLEY '' factor..

when it comes to ablett i dont think there is a crowley factor and even pendles doesnt seem to be as effected as other mids.

on crowley , he hasnt had a great deal of a pre season i think so could find it tough to be as effective in the early rounds .

You'll find more ideas in Jay's Floating Donut thread.

For example, this was one of my posts:

"Did not use a floating donut last year but will next year. Like others have mentioned, my plan is to use R4 spot - particularly for captain's loophole. Will likely have Gaz and Pendles in my starting team so having looked at the 2014 fixtures, North Melbourne plays after either Collingwood or Gold Coast 11 times through to round 15. I guess this is where it comes down to each person's starting team and what options you have. This let me have a look at Pendles' or Gaz's score (depending on who plays first in each round) and then make a decision. In Round 2, Gaz's and Pendles' games start at the same time but North Melbourne plays last that round so at least will have other options. In round 8, obviously Gaz and Pendles share the bye."

Hope that helps!
