Hi All, apologies if this has been explained in detail many times before. I tried searching on the forums for "dpp guide" and there were way too many results and none of them looked appropriate.

Basically i want to trade out papley for a defender this week (either one of the Byrne's) however im not sure how to do that. I have several players on my team that are DPP players (AMT, Adams, Menadue, Kerridge - at least i think they are as they allow me to swap with MID/FWD players)

None of them let me move Papley from a forward position though. Am i doing this all wrong? Am i missing a DPP linking player connecting the DEF/MID?

To my understanding you should be able to complete the trade as long as you are trading in a defender. You will then need to press 's' on either of AMT or Adams who would then swap into your forward line. Hope this makes sense or is as clear as mud

So basically:

1. Trade papley out
2. On trade screen move either AMT or Adams forward
3. Trade in a def rookie.

Basically there are two DPP stages; DPP in Substitutions, and DPP in trades. In DPP Substitutions, you will need two matching DPP players, one in each line you wish to substitute between. For example, I have Barlow (Fwd/Mid) in my midfield, and Hall (Fwd/Mid) in my forward line. I can switch the two as my heart desires.

With trades, it is similar, but you don't player about to be traded out to be DPP. Most people have a Def/Fwd DPP like Mitch Brown in their defence, so they plan to trade Papley out, then press the S next to Brown to swing him forward, and trade a defender in.

If you don't have a Def/Fwd in defence, but you do have a Def/Mid in Def and a Mid/Fwd in Mid, you can achieve the same in two steps. Fwd out, Mid/Fwd to Fwd, Def/Mid to Mid and Def in.
