Rumours have SC opening tomorrow, now we are not sure if that is at midnight tonight, or midnight tomorrow, sometime in between or even next week.....

Anyway, those of us where SC, not 42, is the meaning of life, this means staying up all night just in case. Now while the majority of the world, those poor deluded souls, are oblivious to such a momentous occasion that is about to happen; you don't have to wait alone, we are here!

This thread is your salvage, where we wait and rejoice in eager anticipation. Make sure the beer is in the fridge, feel free to make irrelevant memes, talk about whatever you want (Within normal SC tolerance obviously), we can party through the night!

Why not have the best of both with SC ID = 42? The race is on!

I don't understand the 42 reference but I'm in. Jay is the master of early SC IDs, that guy always seems to get in well before me!

Does that mean you also have no appreciation for the fjords of Norway?

My new Supercoach name might need to be Slartybartfast. My traditional name isn't working. :)

So long and thanks for all the fish........

JR has replied to my message and advised the herald sun are aiming for a midnight opening but it could end up being early tomorrow morning instead. Could be a verrrry late night!

EDIT: Dave Huston who runs the Fantasy Hub page on FB has advised of a midnight opening too. He has his finger on the pulse so wouldn't be doubting him.

Lol just googled :p

"A fjord is a deep, narrow and elongated sea or lakedrain, with steep land on three sides. The opening toward the sea is called the mouth of the fjord, and is often shallow. The fjord's inner part is called the sea bottom. If the geological formation is wider than it is long, it is not a fjord."

The number 42 is, in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything", calculated by an enormous supercomputer named Deep Thought over a period of 7.5 million years. Unfortunately, no one knows what the question is.

Lol - that is why you are a good SC player. It is your ability to do research and take it in. Now google Slartibartfast and your appreciation for my sense of humour may (or may not) be enlightened! :p

Never seen that movie funnily enough (one of the few) but I'd ask the supercomputer why my pregnant wife believes it necessary to have the air con on if she's just gonna get under the blanket anyway.
As always, the books are better than the movie (if you have the time to read them). Probably also best to go back in time to when you were about 15 as they would probably appeal to your younger self a bit more :p

I'm surprised SC is opening today/tomorrow. My recollection is that it usually opens at the end of the week when school goes back in Vic. That would usually make it the end of next week. I'm slightly annoyed as I'm on holiday and only have my phone to register on, but would usually prefer to have my computer for that exercise.

Lol what is going on? I've seriously never heard of this show or recall it ever being on tv! And don't recall seeing it in written form. Bizarre!

Diabolical, I watched a YouTube clip of that bloke talking about fjords but I certainly did not take anything he said in!

I think you'll find that you are either too young or not geeky enough to have had any interest in this book. Not sure what that says about the rest of us though

Note- the TV series was on Chanel 2 in the late 80's (from memory)
