Does anyone know whether or not Weddle had a change of role on the weekend? His heat map looks like he was pushing a lot further forward of centre against WCE or was it just WCE not applying pressure?
Think he took CJ and morrisons spot on the wing. With his running capacity, can see him playing there more often

Ok so ive heard Oliver is confirmed out for a month

Is it worth trading him off? Considering if he was fit he'd only play 3/4 weeks anyways due to byes?

That being said it could end up being 4+

Is it worth swinging to Trac/Merrett etc?
Same bye plus cheaper

I already have 100k ITB and 19 trades

I have pulled back on using trades as theres still a lot of the season left

I would ideally like to ignore trading oliver out and focus on getting a new rookie or 2 into the side to restart cash gen and cover through byes

The way i see it is trade oliver = 2 trades ,(1 out and then another 1 later on to bring him back)

Dont trade him, suffer for a few weeks

Any and all help would be great thanks

That’s a big statement considering all other sources don’t have any definite timeframe, who did you hear that from may I ask?

Systemnshows Humphrey ony makes $70k in two weeks with a pair of 64's and then loses money. Probably needs 75-80 for $100k
I didn’t say in 2 weeks he would get $100k, more meant by the end of the byes as no point trading him before then…
do see your POV @GrainFedBeef but realistically I see him averaging 85 each week with the role he is playing in the team.

Will be interesting to see what scores he averages across the bye rounds….

Unfortunately I think the smart play for me is to hold both Jelly and Oliver.
I'm sitting just inside the 10k rankings overall, so I'm probably going to struggle to replicate my best of top 2000 previously.

I'm sitting midfield in my cash comp with all my mates. We've got a 16 team comp, all playing each other once which means the bye rounds there are not H2H games.

I've got 16 trades and 1 boost left prior to this week and have Simpson and Ryan who likely need to be moved on this week before losing coin.
I can grab Sinclair and Wardlaw this week (or another rookie). And ideally don't want to use my final boost.

My opponent this week has Oliver as well, but not Kelly.
So I'd likely be a premo short but looking at his rookie options I'd say I'm ahead (famous last words)...

This play would mean that I can use the byes to clear some dead wood - Cincotta, Davey, Roberts in search of some cash gen to be full premo by the end of the byes. I only have 3 rookie upgrades to make if I keep Oliver and Jelly which feels doable whilst still keeping somewhere in the vicinity of 5-8 trades in hand for the back end of the year.

Will be a tough watch the next few weeks with the byes as my ranking likely goes the opposite way but the cash league is my focus now and long term I think it gives me the best chance at success.

Anyone else in a similar position?

In quite a bit of strife this week and looking for any potential trade suggestions for my team below.
Only have 18 trades and 6.7k cash. Boost is available.

Problems are Oliver injured and Hunter suspended. Cash generation is pretty much non-existent.

Was leaning towards keeping Oliver and making no trades this week. But I don't want to field either Sharp (assuming he keeps his place) or Angwin (good god...!).

Does anyone have any trade suggestions please?

Whilst you have missed $100k of cash gen, could you still bring in Weddle at $230k?
will have the 114 in his cycle for a couple more weeks and can be fielded on field…

Depends as to whether you see Hunter as a keeper or not…I see him more as a mid priced stepping stone to a premium.

Saves you $180k in bank- keeps same bye structure and allows you to move Atkins to midfield.

Could allow you to move Day to an uber premium in Merrett also?

Allows you to keep Oliver - Wilmot can cover if needed…

OR do Oliver to Merrett and Hunter down to Weddle or Wardlaw early….

Anyone considering Jordan Ridley at 414K? 122 last week, Baldwin playing key defender with Laverde & Kelly likely back this week so will not be playing lockdown - tempting 🤔
no chance for me….I would select Drury before I selected him again ( ok maybe a little harsh on Ridley lol)….
does Depend on your structure…for me too many others at Value like Sicily and Sinclair for $100k more….

Not sure where to ask this but is Walsh on track to get fwd status? Was mentioned a week or two ago that he might, but haven't been paying enough attention to know if that's actually likely or not?
Very unlikely after last weeks game

For anyone weighing him up, this puts some interesting context around Sinclair’s role. He starts behind the ball, and increasingly injects fresh legs into the midfield as the game progresses.

@Courtesans

This is great - and probably a positive for his scoring I'd say.
Get the cheap points early down back and when the game is on the line get added benefit of midfield minutes and potential to kick goals.

He's in for me this week - went merrett and walsh over him last week as it suited my structure more. A little annoyed I missed his big score, but hoping he's around the 110 mark for the remainder of the season.

Think he has been released from playing deep in defense, when Blanck came into the team 2 weeks ago, Blanck got subbed out early with a corkie his first game back, but played the whole game against the Weagles, think Weddle in his first 2 games was playing more as a tall defender, also CJ out has helped him playing more as attacking HBF, doing a lot better in that position last week than what CJ has produced all year, CJ I think is down on confidence and has been carrying an injury. Blanck in, has also helped Sicily go back to his role as the lose man in defense

I missed Weddle but personally dont think paying 230K is playing the percentages, one bad score in the next 3 he maxes out at 300K and really just ends up a waste of a trade, Port at AO and a Brisbane side flying pre bye wouldn't fill me with much confidence in the scoring capacity through the byes being worth it either.

Anyone considering holding Oliver with a bulk of his missed games during the byes? If there was ever a time to hold a premium that Long it would be now. With 14 trades left I'm getting the feeling trading Oliver out means he won't be back in my team until 2024.

I own both. I wonder how they can play out the match and be out for that long. All my leagues play across the byes. Despite my best planning the way my opposition structured up just didn't look great for my byes anyway. E.g. my only non Stewart owner was Rnd 13...etc. I was about 5 or more players short against my collective opponents for my leagues.

I'm also in the dreaded position of owning Mr -200 BE Anderson. He was top of my sell list before I knew about Jelly, and still after it after I heard about Oliver.

Perhaps the extra trades will serve us well in the long run, and we might own some pretty good pods going into the final stretch for our league matches.

I'm also sitting mid tier on my leagues so it will hurt the ranking a bit as well. I'm also really well set for Rnd 12, with only 2 premiums out. Hoping its 2 weeks out personally.

Tricky times...

Keen to get some advice. I'm 4/5 upgrades away from a complete team, 16 trades left. Had a great week last week and keen to keep the momentum going. Bench is shocking - is it worth using the last boost to clean that up? Bit lost. Screenshot_20230525_062944_Chrome.jpg

Yeah agree, Bailey Humphrey has the potential to throw up 80s, although some risks of 60-70 is quite possible. Should be one people just hold for 5 weeks and wear scores and not trade if his BE shoots up on one poor score. Great pedigree in juniors. More about JS, role and bye than pure will make $150k type trade is what makes him attractive.

Prefer Bailey over Weddle.

Will not surprise if Wardlaw is a 50-60 vs Pies but probably prefer to release cash to keep upgrade cycle going. For me Wardlaw allows me to bring Laird in from Hollands and JVR.

The thing is with Humphrey and 80's is that this time of the season when teams are down to 3 or less rookies on field and they're putting up 80's as a lowest on-field score, it's a big difference for those that are still running a sub 30 scoring rookie
