Darcy has sustained a "moderate grade" hamstring strain, with the Dockers not yet putting a timeframe on his return. Fremantle's bye is well timed, but the ruckman would still be expected to miss round 13 before pushing to play against Greater Western Sydney on June 17 at the soonest. – Nathan Schmook

If I had Darcy, I reckon I’d be looking at Briggs as his short term replacement, and then getting a longer term ruck down the track. If you can get a premium in a different position and field Briggs near term, I think that could be a nice kicker from the need to trade Darcy.

Yeah think you’re right. The more I think about it the more sense it makes. Appreciate the advice.

I’m at a bit of a loss what to do with the 4-8 week prognosis for Darcy. Use his money to upgrade another premium next week and hold Ashcroft for short term or hold Darcy and have Briggs cover him for as long as I can.

Could get away with it over the bye period, and I’m not particularly keen to throw away Darcy who has been so good this season barring 1-2 games.

It sounds like the timeframe may not be quite as bad as you’d thought, which obviously improves the appeal of holding.

I would normally struggle to be on board with holding an injured premo for 4+ rounds, although if Briggs was providing broadly similar scoring, the points cost does reduce materially. I think the loose change could be quite valuable in another position though.

Another reason to avoid Brayshaw is that Darcy being out might mean less supply to the Freo mids. They’re going to have to win a lot more of their own ball rather than being gifted it by a class ruck.

Of course this happens the week I trade in two Freo mids. 🤬🤬

Stewart the better play in terms of structure (particularly for the byes) but Macrae presents the POD upside. A lot to ponder

Rapt to see my team value at ~13.6M despite missing Chandler and to a lesser extent Weddle and JVR.
Crucial was starting Stocker, picking Samson Ryan (over JVR, should have got both), Humphrey two weeks ago and getting on JZ early.

Am I the only one that Round 14 is actually my terrible round, reading here, podcasts, etc and I feel that I’m in the minority, got so worked up about Round 15, maybe I traded into that too heavily the last 6 weeks

14/15 equally bad for me (one bad def, one bad forward or something like that). Tbh my entire plan has been not to trade Rd 12 guys in for the last month, and conserve some trades to deal with the later rounds when they come. Can trade as many as 8 players in before Rd 14 (ie 4 at 13 who all had Rd 12 byes and 3 at 14 who had 12/13 byes), and then another 4 at 15 (ie up to 11 new players using 2 remaining boosts). I think I'll only need 5 or 6 to get good coverage though, but I'm also assuming some carnage and some stretching for rookies.

Fingers crossed it actually works out.

I've got 5 keepers from Round 14 and 9* keepers from Round 15 (*Sheezel)

I only look at premiums/keepers for bye round planning this season (lets see how that goes ) but my logic was I'll have these earlier rounds to get R12 premiums in, and can also ditch 1-2 R15 premiums when it comes to that round. Assume Sheezel is one, and who knows what the form of Cogs/Green/Ziebell will be by the time that round comes along. If they are all dominating, I'll be in trouble, but if 1 is struggling, they will be expendable to save a donut/really low scoring rookie at that round.

Who is a better pick: Briggs or Wardlaw.

Both will cost me as will probably trade Roberts and swing Madden forward. More juicy cows JVR, Mitchell, Cincotta and Atkins (hopefully) have a bit more cash to make.

Have English and Marshall so Briggs will only be on field this week, but my priority is cash generation.
