I mean it was always going to be a short term win, but those who were holding (yes I held) were about saving the trade/s. The answer won't be known until Rd 23 if saving that trade (or 2) and losing say 2-300 points (Merrett vs some 60s) is balanced out at the back end (either by Oliver vs Merrett for those that don't trade him back in, or by running out of trades/having to put off another trade somewhere later.

As with all things supercoach you just weigh the risks, plan some contingencies and cross your fingers and hope it doesn't all go to pieces.
This is pretty much what my thinking is. It’s more of the knock on effect rather than the direct trade that benefits. If you’re low on trades and made the decision to sideways, you might be lucky and get an upside of points by season end, but run the risk of running out due to injuries or other unforeseen circumstances.

Just watch, hell be under 150K post bye even with 2 solid games makes no sense to get him now.
But as you posted earlier maximising your cash is important, especially for some coaches who might find the 20k is the difference between getting a premo upgrade during the byes and getting meh. And his D/M could be a help for some with it giving extra bench coverage later in the season. I think it will depends on the circumstances each coach finds themselves in.
Yep I'm taking him this round, he has had solid figures in the VFL leading into to his 2 AFL sub games. Besides lack of money requires me to go 1 down/1 up and just don't have space in the forward line atm. The backline is Swiss cheese though :p
And it makes more sense to me to take him over the Irish Daicos, who has a bye this round and most likely gets dropped round 14 or 15 at best.

Anyone taking the risk on Fyfe , will he become a keeper or just a stepping stone ???????
3 scores above 70 in last 2 seasons. Last ton (107) Rd 17 2021. Would be a big turning back of the clock to become a keeper.

I'm still somewhat keen (after farewelling him after Rd1), but not without some better evidence that he's fit and has a good role.
I tell you who said he may bring Fyfe in, Shelby the Goat of Fantasy Football (SC ranked circa 320) on the HS podcast. Based on that alone its worth considering.

If you have a lot of trades and look for cash gen, Fyfe and Matt Johnson are the better options this week.

If lacking trades Fyfe becomes harder. Which is my situation.

where may it make sense, is trading Sheezel out given R15 bye.

His scoring is dependent on role, in 2021 he has 26% CBA and his last two games he has been 46%, so be careful dismissing him on that.

Last game he was 53 points at half time, Darcy injured and talk was he pushed more forward, although he had his most CBA's last quarter and didn't do much when the game was on the line, maybe tank is an issue.

He is named at CHF this game. Think he needs 70% CBA's and fitness to get to 80-100 range. still possible but expect with the mids they have he may be run 50-60% CBA, potn an 80 role.

The question is what is Sheezel going to score. Named C, is he a 90 player in that role. Are we better with Fyfe @ 70-80 and use the cash t0 upgrade elsewhere.

At this rate, Fyfe at $244.2k can give me 60-80 and I'll be pleased with that. It's when he'll inevitably get injured again will I regret my choice. But at the end of the day, if I went for a Keays or Himmelberg, I'd have less than $50K ITB to use for Rd15 damage control.

Taking Fyfe leaves me over $150K ITB, and with Ashcroft and Sheezel, I'm looking to make my last remaining trades count.

Fyfe = Champion - but just can't trust his body. Yeah it's great if he comes in and goes well, but more than likely - IMHO - you're risking 2/3 trades if things go south - as has so often happened. Don't think he is a keeper. Don't think you can rely on him for cash gen. Save the trade, for mine.

Just think we're looking at a great player, not playing anywhere near relevance - too much water gone under the bridge and the Freo dynamic has changed radically. I hope I'm wrong for those bringing him in.

Can't have Fyfe but his record against the Tiges is astounding
Don't have numbers but can tell you Fyfe's history against Richmond is ridiculously good.
Even got 3 votes when they lost by 70 odd points a few years ago
N Fyfe:
Avg VS Rich since 2011: 111.18 from 11 (low of 71 and a high of 142, 5/11 below 100, 5/11 120+)
Last 3 VS Rich: 139 from 3 (low of 133 and a high of 142, 3/3 120+)
2019 Wins Avg: 124 from 12 (1/12 below 100, 6/12 120+)
2019 Losses Avg: 117.33 from 8 (2/8 below 100, 6/8 120+)
2020 Wins Avg: 103 from 4 (2/4 below 100, 1/4 120+)
2020 Losses Avg: 116.33 from 6 (2/6 below 100, 3/6 120+)

4 of his last 5 against Rich have been 130+ (134+99+142+142+133)
Since then:
RD15 2020= 132
RD19 2022= 32 (Subbed)
