I honestly can't believe that there are some who think that Sicily's tackle shouldn't be considered dangerous. All of the tackles that have resulted in suspensions have been accidents, but that doesn't eliminate carelessness and negligence. The second part of the tackle was definitely a sling tackle, and resulted in concussion, which IMO should definitely result in suspension.

If we're serious about protecting the head, then this has to be eliminated from the game.
My problem with this is that if a player’s act of tackling is to arrest the momentum of the opponent, they then roll with it. How do you have any control of it when you are under the player and rolling with them, let alone when someone else is coming over the top?

For what it’s worth, I don’t think Brockman’s involvement had anything to do with Sicily’s part, but it certainly could have prevented Mcluggage from reacting earlier to protect himself.

Sheezel, Briggs, Green, Coniglio, Cincotta, NDaicos (C) to play
Another bad choice of VC, i.e. Dawson, considering I also had Laird in the same game as well as 5 others who scored 120 plus, so nervous wait on NDaicos playing, otherwise Coniglio.
Gulden and Lloyd/Mitchell in drop zone.

Bolton’s last 6 games:
152, 92, 139, 120, 77, 150*

*pre-scaling

Would’ve been nice to jump on at 423k before that 152!
Make a case for me why I’d jump on a 423k player who hasn’t raised the bat with BE of 96 based on known info at that time. Was there a role change, heat maps, void of opportunity??? With Hopper not departing stage right until Rnd 9, I’m not sure what makes it a good decision at that point…

Round 9 was when I jumped on. ($465k)
He's averaged 116 in my team.
He won't have 75 point last quarters too often, like he did yesterday.

Very nice selection, well played! Why’d ya do it? Still TT Hopper and Prestia ahead on CBAs…team sheet listed Mid from R7 onwards…albeit he was getting a good share by that point…

Even the commentators called it a great tackle…
umpire payed it holding the ball..

Yes they are interpreting it differently this year from a tribunal perspective but let’s be honest, in a contact sport these incidents will happen. Nothing malicious in the tackle either.

Our players aren’t robots, whilst I agree in protecting the head…our game is faster than it has ever been and accidents will happen.

There has been a number of tackles this year where people have been in uproar and I thought would get banned and they did, so my bias on these things tends to be stricter.

Laird (which I did own) I thought looked bad yet players defensive arm wasnt pinned and that in the end one of a couple of factors that helped. There was a slowing down of rotation which I must admit I couldnt see. My view was may get off and worst case one week.

Re Sicily, I am not sure he gets suspended. He lunged from a low level and looked to be around the waist. There was another player making contact. Some say there was a sling, if thats meaning two motions I cannot see it.

Sicily doesn't look to be in a position of strength and the player vulnerable, quite the opposite. I dont have Sicily in my team. I will say the camera angle is pretty poor. Some will say Brockman partially contributed, he looks to do more than partial.

Outcome would suggest 3 weeks, which was flying around on social media. I am in the zero to 1 mark and leaning to zero.

Agree with you…if two actions he should be gone 100%… didn’t see it myself…
Sicily was also underneath Mcluggage holding the tackle when Brocky came across the top….

Going to be an interesting one to judge…and I am taking any Hawk bia out of it…
Even the butler tackle the other night I don’t think should be a suspension…only so much control a players has…

What happens if your captain score is not in best 18 (undoubled)?
I took VC Dunk, my friend just asked me, think he has Dawson C.
He will be winning the weekly if Dawsons 190 doesn’t count in his best 18 score lol…
I would think he is safe…
thing to remember…it’s the double score to be taken into account for the C, not the individual 95 that Dawson scored.

Anyone have further insight into Daniel Rich injury?
was icing his shin after being subbed…
let’s hope it allows for Sharp to come back into our teams next week…would be a vital additional player if it does.

Hypothetical: If your captain got injured on say 10 points and not in best 18, what then?

Kick up the bum Sub I reckon. His unwillingness to do anything defensive is a sight to behold.

I think I had this happen one year, where my C was not top 18. I believe the VC counted, but it wasn't doubled. Should see if I can track it down...

Edit: Can't see individual player scores in each round on past years, so can't confirm.
