So if this comes to fruition, what are Sicily owners doing? Let's just say he gets 2 weeks, that's actually 3 rounds he's missing due to the bye. I think I would lean towards begrudgingly trading him..

Just take the hit more than likely, its a guy youre going to want in a completed team so doesnt make much sense to trade him and then have to struggle to get him back again.

Think I still hold given the limited trades in the bank….moved on Ziebell for Neale this round so can’t afford another sideways trade.

If I had enough trades the move might be the play, particularly for round 14 and 15 byes

If Sicily suspended 2 weeks then I think he is an easy trade out for many teams if R15 numbers are an issue.

If traded say to a 100ppg $530k replacement:
R14 points gain - say 40
R15 points gain - say 100 (Sicily would be a donut for me if no trade)
R16 points gain - say 40

180 point gain plus $120k cash released from one trade.

Sicily would need to average 122.5 from R17-24 to make up the points differential, but the trade has the cash release benefit as well.

Bedridden Collingwood star Josh Daicos failed to train on Saturday and pulled out of a Saturday night function alongside brother Nick as Covid and the flu hits the club.
The Magpies have banned players and staff who feel unwell from attending club headquarters after a virus outbreak last year hampered the club for almost a month.
The Daicos brothers are in line to be All-Australians this year and had been booked for a Saturday night function at Bannockburn Railway Hotel, alongside their legendary father Peter.

But just before 1pm on Saturday the pub postponed the show.
“It is with regret we must inform you that Macedonian Marvels ‘An Evening with Peter, Josh & Nick Daicos’ will not be going ahead tonight,” a statement said.
“We have just been informed that both Josh and Nick have fallen ill. On club advice, they are on bed rest in an effort to be fit for Monday.”
But the Magpies confirmed that only Josh was sick.

There appearance at a Saturday night event has been postponed.
Nick Daicos, who is favourite for the Brownlow Medal, trained on Saturday and is in no doubt to take on Melbourne on King’s Birthday.
It’s believed Josh contracted the flu and not Covid. A few Magpies players have had either Covid or the flu recently.

Injured defender Jeremy Howe appeared on AFL360 remotely after testing positive for Covid while coach Craig McRae stayed away last week in the lead-up to round 12.
“We’ve had a bit of virus. I got it last week and it’s just going through the place,” McRae said this week.
“But we’re very strict on your ability to come in with anything so it doesn’t get like last year.
“Nearly the whole club got it for a three-week period, so we’re pretty strict on our protocols right now.
“It’s just the natural course of what’s happening in society and we’ve just got to be diligent.
“You go over to Perth and you catch things on planes. We just make the protocols that if you’ve got anything you’re not coming in the walls, hence why I was away last week.”
