Both of them, left and right, tears running down them.

Also sorry about the game yesterday, WCE deserve Reid! 😬

Okay you were referring to the upper cheeks. Got it. No need to be sorry. We got ourselves into this mess with bad trade decisions and it has come to bite us on the cheeks (the lower ones). But someone should be accountable for that. I could understand if Simpson pulled the pin at the end of the year but I think he will stay next year at least to see some of the new draft picks come through and prep the team for the next coach. If he stayed till the end of his contract (2025) I don't see him going on after that.

It was nice to watch a Hawks win but I felt for West Coast, pretty hard place for everyone involved, including the supporters.

Rookies are really the bane of my existence….

Rookies missed: Chandler, Humphrey, Weddle

Rookies I still have: Bytel, Constable, Wagner, Drury, Sturt, Sharp.
Also traded into M Roberts.

Traded Cincotta and held S Simpson last round.

Esava R3 gets injured right before I needed him in the Marshall bye round….

Absolute disaster of a season, I don't even know where to start!

Starting team, had Oliver, Bont, N Daicos all locked in for the whole pre-season and got 'scared' off Daicos because of the tags, Oliver because of the injury and Bont because he was so widely picked. Went Docherty, Macrae and Laird instead...
Laird captain rd 1 for a 50.

Following premiums traded out/in:
Rd 3 Steele/Macrae --> Daicos/LDU (LDU stunk it up from here)
Rd 5 Docherty --> Saad (inj next week)
Rd 6 Saad --> Sinclair
Rd 7 LDU/Setterfield --> Day/Oliver (Day ****, Oliver inj)
Rd 8 Rookies --> Steele (crap)
Rd 9 Ashcroft --> Anderson (woeful until I trade him)
Rd 10 Hopper --> Walsh (sneaky dpp chance, if not mid prem... crap since I've got him)
Rd 11 Oliver inj/Anderson about to drop big $$ --> Merrett / B Smith (to save 50k on Macrae, has been crap)
Rd 12 Darcy inj + rookies --> Witts (instead of Rat to Briggs) / Stewart (actually a good score, can't complain)

Ratagolea injured after I've held him specifically for bye coverage. All my rookies dropped/injured leading up to rd 13 when I needed them the most means 3 trades and still only 17 on field...

Worst year I've ever had in over 10 years of SC. What a nightmare

This is a pile, a hot steaming pile. I think you should have also bought in DCam in R3 to make sure all bad luck is used up this year. This was my team last year, virtually an LTI or dropped rookie every week. It really hardens you against choosing dicey players. (Looks at team sees Jelly and Yeo…stops typing…forget that last line) Good luck next year.

Historically I have been very good at avoiding those injury-prone/questionable types.
My starting team (particularly premiums) this year let me down so much that it essentially forced my hand...
New aim is to break top 10k and avoid setting a new 'record' low overall finish.

Transparency on Clayton Oliver will be my rant pretty soon, any danger of telling the real story Melbourne? One minute hes 50/50 for a Thursday game the next hes no certainty for a game 10 days later, make up your mind....
It's truly bizarre that clubs do this ducks and drakes BS. Do they actually think it makes a difference if the opposition know how long he's out for.

Gonna forget SuperCoach for a moment because honestly I'm just so fed up and disgusted with this West Coast team. Every week, every single match they get absolutely flogged to the moon and back. How many more 100+ point thrashings every game is it going to take for the club management to make a change? The injuries aren't an excuse anymore. The players aren't giving their 100% because they just can't be stuffed. They say they care but we can definitely see they don't otherwise they wouldn't play so terribly. They know they'll play every game as long as they stay "fit". No desire, no effort, just bloody going through the motions for the sake of it. Simpson will always be a legend at the club but the players aren't responding to his coaching anymore. The past few years have been an absolute travesty.

Today's match is another embarrassment to a national, professional footy competition. Gone are the days where a West Coast vs. Sydney match used to be a tough, closely fought game between rivals that had finals implications on the line for both teams. Sydney may have well played their reserves today.

I'm sorry but I just don't want to take every loss every week and be quiet about it hoping it will get better when clearly it feels like it's going to get a lot worse.

No doubt the players/coaches will say their usual BS in the media this week about "how they tried" and "will continue to improve" and "it was a tough game but we have to stay positive and we are aiming win the next game" blah blah blah. Same old BS, just rinse and repeat every week for the past couple of seasons.

It's only round 15 but West Coast may as well throw their Mad Monday celebrations now because the season has long ended. But hey, us Eagles fans will always be here as we will convince ourselves that somehow, some way, things will get better. It's the hope that kills you.

This follows from the @Rumbler post above.

Given the current imbalance in the comp why is the afl hellbent on expanding the number of teams? It would appear that there is a limit to the number of "excellent" players (my definition of "excellent" being those players I enjoy watching regardless of who they play for). If that is correct, then how does spreading this group more thinly across a greater number of teams enhance / expand the game? Does it not just reduce it to the LCD (lowest common denominator).

What is the purpose of the group of people at afl house?

The game will be fine and it's probably time that, in a national competition, we have a Tassie team at the very least.

You can't stop progress because of a single team's ineptitude to run themselves.
