Hey guys,

I noticed we have this thread set up, specifically for fantasy. However, there's been a lot happening since the off-season and was wondering if I should revive this thread with player updates, contract signings, trades, injuries, etc. or if it's worth creating a new thread that will carry into the next season (2023-2024 NBA Discussion).

I can see we have a lot of different discussion boards for all kinds of sports (cycling, AFL, cricket, NRL, F1, Darts, Poker, probably more than I missed).

I'm a pretty big NBA nerd and would have no qualms about setting up a new thread and posting any important tidbits about the league and I'm also happy to also make it fantasy oriented too as I play that every year as well.

I'm still relatively new to this forum so not sure what the etiquette is on creating new threads, especially if there are some that already exist about it.

If any mods can let me know if it's acceptable or no need/wait for next year for a thread to be created, that'd be great.

Whilst this, and other sports, are titled with fantasy, they are in fact the threads for all things related to the sport. NBA, NFL, EPL, etc have both fantasy game specific information and as well as injuries, trades, signings, etc.

We tend to open up the next season threads close to the beginning of the relevant season. So, off-season postings go at the end of the last season.

No worries, thanks for letting me know. Will post anything that tickles my fancy in here.

Probably about as much as he'd get on the open market. Dallas get a defensive beast, but at 26, he still has no offensive bag.

Shouldn't matter that much with the offensive firepower of Luka and Kyrie, but there could be times where he is a bit of a playoff liability.

Still, another great signing for Dallas.

Edit: Thybulle is an RFA so Portland can still match - and probably will.

Huge. This puts Morey in a really awkward spot. $8M a year for Paul Reed is something the Sixers should sign on for.

Matching this offer sheet puts them $14M into luxury tax, but they will go into that luxury tax by filling out their roster regardless. The Sixers have signed Mo Bamba and Montrezl Harrell as their backup 5s in the last few days, so perhaps Reed may play PF with a stretch 5 like Mo Bamba.

Have a feeling that Sixers will not match though.

As expected, The Portland Trailblazers have matched the offer and will re-sign Thybulle. Their guard rotation is so heavy, they really needed another forward after waiving Trendon Watford.

This guy pulled off the most insane heist I've ever seen. Talked so much trash during the Lakers vs Grizzlies that backfired so badly that the Grizzlies didn't want him back under any circumstances.

Then floated that he wants $12M a year during free agency and goes on to secure the bag in a fashion no one would've guessed.

Absolutely did not expect this, but Houston had to sign guys to actually reach the salary cap minimum so why not I guess.
