Miller seems to be a decent shot of playing but the comments from Forde about the coaching staff wanting to hold him back are a little concerning for him playing both games on the double. With the news about Armstrong / McCall also back, I think I will pass this round and just go Cotton.

The comments...

Adam Forde has revealed the Cairns Taipans could receive a massive boost this weekend with the likely returns of Tahjere McCall and Taran Armstrong to the lineup, plus the potential involvement of guard Patrick Miller.

Miller took a nasty fall in Cairns’ Round 5 win over Sydney, but has been cleared of any serious injury.

“Pat (Miller) wants to train and play now and we’re trying to hold him back. He’s the ultimate competitor and warrior and that’s what we brought him in for.

“It was a back complaint mainly, a bit of bruising that extended down from his lower back to his glute and it lit up In the sense of that’s where the bruising was. It’s now managing that swelling and bruising and seeing how he pulls up in the next 48 hours.”

I think he'll likely play both games, He's an absolute warrior and has been cleared of serious damage so will want to be out there on the court.

Take it this will effect Waardenburg too ?

This week will be very interesting. Lots of different ways for people to go with who they trade out and for who.

If I get really funky, I can spend all my cash and get in Williams, Bannan and Cotton for Travers, Robinson and Cheatham. Means I cop the hit on whatever Hukporti scores this week in his 16-17 minutes and his price drop and move him on next week as a downgrade for Armstrong via Waardenburg/McDaniel.

Means I can get a guard and Forward in so I don't have to field Bannan.

Or I could just trade Cheatham to Cotton and Hukporti to Bannan and save my last remaining boost. Means fielding Bannan vs SEM and TAS. Would likely be an Ili > Armstrong and McDaniel > Pinder trade next week then.

I think Waardenburg's minutes should remain the same... Mayen, Kuol, Antonio probably all take minutes hits... Miller probably loses a few as well once Armstrong fully up to speed.

I have just enough to get McCall instead and i might get Pinder instead of Sauce as he has a double in W8.
Not sure I'd be jumping straight back into McCall. He hasn't played much ball in the last few months because of injury and is also coming back from a flight from the States.... He'll likely be eased into it this weekend I think.

I like your last option. Save the last boost as it will likely needed later in the season. Hukporti has a 37 BE and his minutes are drying up as each week passes. Will drop signinficant cash this week.

I wouldn't be afraid of having to start Bannan... A fair majority of the comp will be starting him. His numbers may drop slightly with Baynes back, but should still be good enough to start.

Agreed after looking more into Bannan. Of the top 1% that have Bannan 54% are currently starting him and 46% have him on the bench. Think it’s worth holding my 1 remaining boost. Cotton is a POD play in itself with only 10% of the top 1% currently having him.

Should save the boost and not get an itchy trigger finger.

If PJC misses I’m going to have to use my final boost getting another guard in I guess. Pretty much solidifies the Cotton trade though. Want another strong C option.

Might go a week early on Ili to Armstrong then as Sobey will be locked out and I don’t really want Sobey at this point

If PJC is out it will be chaos, lol

It's not worth trading him as a Game Time Decision indicates a minor issue.
This.

Depending on risk appetites, the only current consideration would be whether coaches are still willing to hand him the captaincy duties or look elsewhere such as Cotton, Pinder, etc.

CQUniversity Cairns Taipans point guard Patrick Miller will miss Round 6 due to the back injury he sustained in the home game against the Sydney Kings. He has been diagnosed with a soft tissue injury but is likely for next week’s game against the Hawks on Saturday 11 November.

Lachlan Anderson is also experiencing back soreness and will sit out during Round 6. His current return-to-play date is Saturday 18 November in Round 8.

Taipans development players Alex Mudronja and Kian Dennis will both suit up as replacements. Mudronja has travelled to New Zealand to replace Miller, while Kian Dennis will meet the team in Melbourne for the game against South East.

Guards Tahjere McCall and Taran Armstrong will return to the line-up, with Armstrong expected to make his NBL debut tomorrow night in New Zealand.

The Taipans play a road double-header this weekend, facing the Breakers for the club's first game in Christchurch before taking on the Phoenix.

Miller missing both games is very annoying

Like PJC... it's probably not worth trading him with his schedule as he's likely back next week... but it makes things very hard this week,
