Game on! I hate cut and paste lazy solutions!

Hello Rachel,

I have done as you instructed and still am experiencing the same problem.

Please escalate through the appropriate channel and have your manager advise the next steps to me via email or phone call. I have done my research and know that this is a widespread problem with your premium service across multiple browsers and it's not acceptable for News Limited to offer another cut and paste solution as part of your next contact with me.

Regards,

Mr Young

Beginning to dislike Rachel ... the site auto logs out after half an hour or so ... maybe 45 minutes. I wonder if there is an app on firefox or Chrome that will log out and log you in automatically every twenty minutes or so, I downloaded a heap of apps for firefox, but i am on baby/wife/lunch/driving/life duties today so shan't get a chance to try out.

The Sunday Footy Show - Interview with Mark Evans (Football operations boss)

We are looking at "stay at home players". These are players that will be forced to stay and play in a certain position. For instance, a full forward will be forced to stay and play inside his forward 50 ONLY. This is due to the game becoming too congested at stoppages.

Some of the things i like and don't like so far this season. I'm sure there are many differing views on these but it's just my opinion.

The good: Less free kicks, games seem more free flowing, good competition to make it into the top 8 and names on jumpers.

The Bad: Malthouse being blamed, large injury lists, the bump and over possession style games (looking at you Essendon).

The ugly: MRP and the tribunal, goal review technology and no footy on Good Friday.

Have to spread the REPS around but I totally agree with each of those points, especially MRP and tribunal.

Ok - back from lunch and shops - using firefox addon called reloadevery. Right click tab and set to five minute refresh. will test now.

Edit * Fail -seemed to log out at half past the hour... sigh.

The thing is though, it is not a general site problem. If I leave it on the "News" section for hours, it doesn't log me out!
It only logs me out when I try access live SC scores, so they are basically telling us lies.
I am sure it is one of their ways to stop other sites poaching the live scores, otherwise it would happen in other sections of the site.
I just wish they'd be honest about it.

They have went totally overboard with the less free kicks though. What happened to the dropping the ball rule? Seems like the umpires don't care how the player disposes of the ball as long as he gets it out even when standing. Happens literally every game now where I great tackle isn't properly rewarded with the players just being allowed to either throw it out or drop the ball completely.

The names on jumpers a big thumbs up though.

Not sure if anyone has linked it yet but the AFL has finally decided to install the required goal line review technology at Etihad and the MCG, current review system is ridiculous with every decision given umpires call since the angles are atrocious.

Thank fudge that they are getting the goal line cameras sorted. It's actually embarrassing that we go to the effort to review using what's in place at the moment.

Buddy Franklin questioned by police after car smash at Rose Bay in Sydney's east

AFL star Lance "Buddy" Franklin has been questioned by police after he crashed into four parked cars in Sydney's east. Rose Bay resident Craig McDonald posted pictures of the incident on Twitter after spotting the Sydney Swans' $10 million recruit speaking to police.

Franklin was uninjured and was allowed to leave the scene, but all five vehicles involved in the incident were damaged.

"Inquiries are continuing after a car hit a number of parked vehicles in Rose Bay tonight," a police spokesman said. "The driver of the Jeep was a 27-year-old Bondi man." The spokesman said he was the sole occupant of the 4WD and underwent a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.

It is understood the Jeep Grand Cherokee that Franklin was driving belonged to his girlfriend, model Jesinta Campbell, who is a brand ambassador for the car maker. Pictures from the scene show the Jeep smashed head-on before it was towed.

The Sydney Swans released a statement late Wednesday night confirming Franklin was the only person involved in the accident and came out of it unscathed.

Melbourne and Richmond request to play an annual Anzac Eve night match at the MCG

AN annual Anzac Day eve clash between Richmond and Melbourne could be launched next season.

The match — which has the crucial support of the RSL — would be played at the MCG on the night of April 24 each year.

Tigers chief executive Brendon Gale told the Herald Sun the two clubs wanted to develop a “traditional blockbuster” on the eve of the Collingwood-Essendon Anzac Day game.

“This is very much about complementing the existing programming the AFL has around Anzac Day,” Gale said on Wednesday.

“We are well aware of the sensitivities around such a game. We have already spoken to the RSL and without their support the concept would not have gone any further.

“Both clubs have significant links into armed conflict and being cotenants of the MCG there is a natural and historic fit.”

The Anzac Day eve concept was pitched to AFL chiefs last year and will be considered for next season.

AFL broadcaster Channel 7 has also indicated support.

Collingwood and Essendon have played on Anzac Day at the MCG since 1995, while St Kilda and Brisbane meet for the second time in New Zealand tomorrow night.

Melbourne chief executive Peter Jackson told the Herald Sun: “We believe this match can complement the Anzac Round in a meaningful way.

“Anzac Round is about recognising and reflecting on the sacrifices made by our service men and women.

“Our club along with Richmond has strong ties to war. Melbourne lost more players (32) in wartime service than any other club. The story of Ron Barassi Sr who died in Tobruk in 1941 still has an enormous impact on the Melbourne Football Club and for the supporters of both clubs to be able to recognise and honour these stories at a night time special event game would be fitting.”

Richmond and Melbourne played in their only Grand Final meeting in 1940 during World War II.

The winning Melbourne side contained four players subsequently killed in action — Ron Barassi Sr, Keith Truscott, Syd Anderson and Harold Ball — along with **** Hingston, who survived.

Six members of the Richmond team also served in the war — Ian Hull, Kevin O’Neill, Jack Cotter, Jack Quinn, Laird Smith and Jack Crane.

Richmond’s Punt Rd Oval became Melbourne’s home ground during WWII because the MCG was occupied by the armed forces.

In 1965 the two clubs became the MCG’s original cotenants.

Gale said yesterday: “We will continue to work with the RSL to ensure we are complementing existing ceremonies.”

Anzac Day falls on a Saturday next year and Monday in 2016.
