GW19 and I had 2 FTs in FPL. Thought I'd move early and dump Areola for Pickford as Areola had 'lost his spot' to Fabianski, and was about to drop a pip. Seemed an insignificant move and my team was good, so likely I'd be burning a transfer if I didn't use it. Then another player got injured, so used up the other FT instead of rolling it.

Now Areola has gone on a stellar run of CSes, but I'm 0.3 pips short of getting Haaland back and I'd have to take a -12 to do so, whilst keeping every player I want. Sold Areola for 4.1 and got Pickford for 4.4. Now gotta pay 4.2 for Areola so can't even get him back.

It's little moves like that, that end up defying your season. Should have just taken the pip hit and done transfers at the end of the GW, after I knew about injuries. In the end, he didn't even drop the pip.

Son and salah to deal with. Will probably trade 1 and keep the other. A lot will depend on the Haaland situation.

The City boss went on to discuss the second half of the season and commented briefly on Erling Haaland (£13.9m), who could be in the frame for a return in Gameweek 21. Guardiola said: “We’re awaiting Jeremy, Erling, John Stones because the second part of the season is already here. January will disappear because we have three, potentially four games, and after February the Champions League is here and the last part of the season we need everyone, and it’s incredible news Kevin is back and Erling as well and Jeremy [Doku] as well.”

Thinking if Haaland doesn’t get up for the next game won’t trade him in, which means no Haaland for the rest of the season, and I will use Salah as a loop

Looking at the No.1 overall, it seems they dropped Salah for Bowen this week.
Would have been looking great with the PKM, but turned out the wrong move, for this week anyway.

They also wanted to take Foden's 22 for capt, so took out Raya for a filler.
Then Trippier goes MIA, though that was a surprise for all.

Their Olise transfer from last week has paid off dividends, but again, an injury cloud over him.

Just over half way into the season and anyone could win this.
If you're 200 pts behind but have the transfers in hand, it's not over by a long shot.

Im really unsure about trades for the next round. Im keeping Salah ive decided but i want to get Estupinan and get rid of Bruno but the only way to get Bruno up to someone i want is to downgrade TAA to Estupinan which is not a good idea. I could do Trippier or Tarkowski > Estupinan & Bruno > Eze but im not sold on Eze either.

Then again, i think with only 9 trades coming into this round, maybe trading Bruno is a luxury i cant afford. Do we think MUT will start playing better at some point? Another option im considering is doing Gordon > Rashford/Nunez (probably Nunez) and upgrading Udogie to Estupinan. I assume Nunez may have an opportunity to score better/play more minutes without Salah, but i could be wrong.

Personally I am keeping any playing 'premium'. Salah and Son for Haaland and Watkins for me. When Areola gets near maxing out, trade him to someone, bank 5 mil plus for the second half of the season. Get Salah back in when he returns. Eze is a pretty good option, can play a bit, appears fit, not that I would know.
