Will be very interesting how they book a match if he returns to face Roman. Gather there will be run ins from family members, no dq, etc to look after Dwayne. Doesn’t make sense for the title to be involved given a Rock win devalues the whole story and division and how long a reign would he have and who would go over? If the title is involved, then it becomes so predictable unless they try to swerve for swerve sake.

Run in at the Rumble to cost Reigns the title and hand Randy (if he wins the triple threat on Smackdown this weekend) the win for Orton to lose against his protégée Cody Rhodes at Mania. Gets the title off Roman in the process, sets up the Mania match and Rhodes finishes the story.

It's definitely a tricky situation that WWE have put themselves in. I like your idea of Reigns losing the title at the Rumble and then having a three month build up to Rock vs Reigns Head of the Table match at Wrestlemania.

How would you build an Orton vs Rhodes feud? I imagine they both would be faces unless Orton turns heel soon.

"Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that the entire reason Reigns began calling himself The Tribal Chief and The Head of the Table was to eventually set up a WrestleMania main event against The Great One.
The match was originally slated for Dallas in 2022 and then Los Angeles in 2023, but it never managed to materialize.
Meltzer suggested the contest will happen in Philadelphia in April, but he has yet to confirm."

And another article about a potential Rock Vs Reigns match:

That is the hard part and had not been considered. Randy a natural heel and a face on return by virtue of his long absence, so would eventually return to his heel status. Could be set off by Cody turning on him during the title match at the rumble after Randy delivers one of the most protected finishers (Punt kick)to Reigns a few times to knock him out cold. Cody comes out and cuts a promo about Randy betraying him back in their Legacy stable and taking his revenge as he wants to finish his story and be the one to beat Reigns. He hits a few cross rhodes before leaving, only for the Rock to come in and hit his moves on Solo and Jimmy and then move Randy on top of Roman for the three count. Feels silly now when you think more about it since Randy doesn’t need the rub and would be better served to someone else in the mid card or on the precipice of the main event to be established as the guy (eg Rhodes) longer term but this is the fun part of fantasy booking.

It would be interesting if Reigns Vs Rock is booked for Elimination Chamber and especially a squash match in the favour of Reigns for the crowd responses then and until Mania against Cody.

Imagine a Cody Rhodes heel turn because he has to 'finish the story' and it was his last resort. Wouldn't that be a huge swerve?

Yeah. Would have to try and frame it that he and Randy are now even and Cody just continues as normal as the ultra babyface . Cena and Hogan could commit heel acts whenever they liked and were still the big babyface. :ROFLMAO:
