Stupid sexy Flanders. I started him last year too!

Helps the casual players stay interested. Definitely helps the run of the mill coaches like me become a bit more likely to stay in the hunt longer.

Think it’s a good thing in the long run, just different.

As much as I use to benefit from players exhausting trades early, injury hits in last two years has saved me by increase trades.
Those who take risk will amp up risk due to more trades - I probably did with mid price madness last year seeing my place +70k after 4 rounds.
Think we both will end up starting with the same trades but you will take advantage of it more than me
I will need all my SC strategy tactics to catch you back

Just don't go online saying something, you will get told you don't need to play the game!

Shame, to be honest, and I get why Tim M said what he said, but I think it didn't have the desired effect.
Maybe they could have said more about what options they thought about and why they landed on 4 extra trades, the thought process.

More trades = more instant satisfaction. Keeps peeps interested. Most online games have reward mechanisms to trigger that brain response, with majority hidden behind paywalls or facilitated by micro transactions, funded by advertising.

I am thankful its not here yet in fantasy sports.

The problem with the way SC does things at times is they usually don’t explicitly explain why they do things. That’s not saying their decision making is wrong, but they should just talk through potential ideas before they happen so there’s a feedback opportunity for consumers (us).

Feedback would come from the hardcore fan who follows everything even in pre-season and wants 30 trades and yes, they're some lurking on this site wanting 20.

Whilst it is surprising they went to 40, I am the tight arse who doesn't spend trades and yet benefitted from extra's due to injuries and failed midpricers last year.

Reality we all have same trades, there is more info around than ever before, let's just blow the whistle and play on.
