Few Little stats now it’s supercoach season
From round 8 onwards when Brayshaw was announced as “fit”
14 100’s out of 16. 7 scores over 120.
Averaged 116.75
Serong in that same span
10 100’s out of 15 missed 1 game but also 4 90’s. 5 over 120.
Averaged 109.6
Serong obviously started better averaging 114.6 from the first 7 with 6 100’s compared to Brayshaw 91.1 with 2 100’s.
I think the last 3/4 of the season are more of what we’ll see in 2024 so I reckon Brayshaw presents more upside whilst also being 13k cheaper.

Laird vs Dawson is one that I’ve been going back and forth on.
Laird’s an accumulator who’d have to be one of the most consistent players in the game over the past decade. If you take out his round one score from last season, he averaged 120 for the year.
Dawson’s the type of player that can score heavily in multiple ways. Not many players have the ability to score 173 points off 27 touches in a 40 point loss, like he did against the dockers in round 4 last year. I regretted changing Dawson to Stewart last season and would hate to miss out on him again.

I really like both, should be in and around the top 8-10 by seasons end. The only thing that would sway me on starting either is if Crows continue to play high possession footy which seemed to benefit Laird. Dawson was very good start of last year when they tried moving the ball a bit faster with guys like Rachele and Soligo being part of the rotations. Laird was unable to get those cheap possessions but still did well without going large. Laird improved his scoring after the byes when Crouch came back in and Crows controlled the footy more.
I don't think there's a right or wrong choice in starting either but I really like Laird if they play high possession footy. Dawson also slowed when Crouch came back into the mix, whether that was because of Crouch, injury or any number of other reasons i'm not sure. Just have to wait and see in the praccy and make a decision then, too early to tell now. Probably overthinking it a bit but hope It helps and makes the decision a bit easier.

I suspect really it is just about Macrae because a decision to have or not have him carries more weight that Steele. Macrae will most likely have high ownership. If you take him and he goes okay or fails you are not disadvantaged that much because so many other coaches are in the same boat. But if you don't have him (considering that myself currently) and he goes big you possibly have a big chunk of your opponents leaping ahead of you. There is a case to be made that his downward trend could continue so if no Macrae who do you have taking his place in the fwd line? If you are comfortable that Flanders can outscore Macrae and he will be your F1 then roll with it and save the cash. I think it really is about your expectations of scoring with Macrae and your fwd set up.

Young pretty much locked midfield role where he scored well in backend of last year.
Sheezel role a bit up in the air. Played a bit of everywhere in match sims, wait for pre season to make a call although I wouldn’t be squeezing out Young to fit Sheezel in. If you wanted to get Sheezel in I’d drop another premo on another line.
