I don’t think a meaningless practice match against quite possibly the weakest team in the comp should sway anybody towards Serong over the premium mid they had prior to last night.

Perhaps only if anybody was tossing up between Serong and Brayshaw then they would be leaning towards Serong due to Brayshaw spending time on the wing.
“Meaningless practice match” yet you’ve spent all week on here talking about them 👍

I think it’s pretty valid that people are looking to see how Freo structure their 6-7 mids in these games.

Meaningless for players like Serong, yes.

Great to see you back 👍🏼

I'm wondering whether Massimo at D5 and Williams at D6 is a play? Coffield and Gibcus at D7 & 8
Currently what I am heading with. Had Burgoyne slotted in around D6-D7 given the early opposition but playing around with both of the above at D5 and D6 as it is easier to adjust down. Avoids the variation of a key position player and potentially has Coffield to cover Williams in RD2 rather than a Curtin/Gibcus. If I have missed a def rookie I can assess and grab on the bubble if I am content with a structure rather than trying to find a use for that additional $90k odd.

Edit- What @NT.Thunder raised above.

Would it be silly then to start Williams given he already misses rnd 2 and cover him with a Coffield /Gibcus loop for rnd 1?
Do you mean if he misses round 0? If he misses round 0 then really they should give him R1 off as well and give him the extended time to get his body right if he's so touch and go. At least we'll know.

I'll cross that bridge when I need to but if he does miss I'll probably make a decision based on what I've seen from Gibcus

Is it just me, or this more negative than positive? Seeing managed minutes in the first few rounds.
I guess Round 0 will be the key on how he looks.
Agree…after reading that strongly considering swapping Williams for Massimo…..
If he gets a few games and looks ok can always pick him up after his bye in round 2.
