Paris-Nice Stage 3 Results:
The good old Team Time Trial that skews the results a bit more than I would like in this tournament. Well done to those who picked a UAE rider, they cashed in by getting more favourable weather conditions compared to a lot of the other favoured teams who started after them. Still think they were a reasonable shot at winning anyway. Those who had more from the later starting teams struggled today. Everyone is now on the leaderboard, with both of our new participants scoring well.
Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 2 Results:
The two best sprinters went head to head here, and the more favoured Philipsen took out the stage win. Selecting both sprinters looks like it may have been the way to go, but we'll see by the end of the event.
De Lie has pulled out of Paris-Nice, so Woosie is down to 3 riders in that one.

The two best sprinters went head to head here, and the more favoured Philipsen took out the stage win. Selecting both sprinters looks like it may have been the way to go, but we'll see by the end of the event.

Despite not taking the stage win, Luke Plapp moves into a surprise lead in the GC. Nobody picked any of the first three on this stage, so there were only minor movements in the standings overall.
Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 3 Results:
A Philipsen crash and Merlier getting dropped on the run in meant that we ended up with nobody scoring any points today. Thanks everyone for giving me a relatively simple update.
Paris-Nice Stage 4 Results:
Despite not taking the stage win, Luke Plapp moves into a surprise lead in the GC. Nobody picked any of the first three on this stage, so there were only minor movements in the standings overall.

Kooij
. A strong result from Pedersen keeps the points ticking along for most of the field, however a second stage victory from Kooij gives me a handy lead with 3 stages to go. Jakobsen abandoned towards the end of this stage, so Kiewa is also down to 3 riders remaining.

Milan looking like a great pick that we all missed. Philipsen was able to finish 2nd in the sprint, however Merlier didn't make it over the climb with the peloton. A 9th place from Alaphilippe was enough to see Old Big 'Ead move onto the podium for now.

McNulty now has 1 min + on Evenepoel and other favourites and Jorgenson 40 seconds. If either of them can hang onto that GC lead for another two days, quite a few people can still win this event. It is good to see Bernal back in some sort of form too (6th on GC) - he was one of the dominant riders a few years ago before a big accident.

Vingegaard finally does something in this event on the first of the two tough stages, and moves well clear on GC from Ayuso and others with a dominant stage win. I'm expecting the same could happen in Stage 6. It is good to see so many good youngsters coming through - 8 of the current top 11 in GC in this event are under 25.

Pretty sure this will give Dravid enough points to take top spot for this event, barring Jorgenson failing spectacularly. Bonaparte is still a chance if Gall can somehow get a top 2 spot on the stage. chels needs Roglic to significantly outperform Evenepoel, and I don't see it on results so far. Despite my current top spot, I can't see any way I can win from here.

I'll open entries for Milano-Sanremo tomorrow night (a one day race held on Saturday), as I'm fairly sure of the main chances, despite a lot of teams still to be named. I'll likely hold off on opening Volta a Catalunya entries until Friday/Saturday though (a week long event starting next Monday), as the start list for that is a bit empty still.

Evenepoel was able to put time into everyone except for Jorgenson today, who was the only one who could keep up with him. This is what he had to do, and although Evenepoel managed to win the stage, Jorgenson was too good overall across the event and by finishing in the same time had done enough to win the race. McNulty was one who couldn't keep up, and lost the lead in the GC on this final stage. Selected riders who didn't start or didn't finish this final stage included Vine, Kooij and Gaudu.

Last year's champ takes out the opening event. Picking the right one out of the two main favourites had a huge effect on the overall standings.
Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 7 Results:
For once, we did not do well with picking sprinters in this event. Philipsen did do reasonably well, but Milan was the way to go. Easy in hindsight of course. Merlier and Martinez both either did not start or withdrew during the final stage.

Bonaparte gets the win in an event that was a bit devoid of excitement standings wise, as he was the only person not to pick a rider who failed to score any points. Everyone picking the same favourite in Vingegaard, who duly delivered an easy win meant it all came down to the other three selections. I think this might happen a bit this year, but even though it's early days, I think this is working better than last year.

I am now accepting entries for Milano-Sanremo, which is a one day monument to be held this Saturday. You will be picking three riders, you may only pick a maximum of one from the group of favourites below. Your other two (or three) riders can be anyone else outside of this group.
Milano-Sanremo: F Ganna, M Mohoric, M Pedersen, T Pogacar, M Van Der Poel
I will open selections for Volta a Catalunya later in the week, this race commences next Monday and will be a seven stage tour, similar to our first two events. The list of favourites are yet to be determined for this event.

Could see any of the 5 I nominated as the favourites in this event, or even a couple of others win in the right conditions. MVDP deserves favouritism based on recent years, and probably does win, but I like being a bit different with my picks here. My other two picks likely won't win, but I think they can both get good overall results if they don't lose too much ground on the leaders over the climbs.

Milano-Sanremo starts in just under 11 and a half hours from now, or at 8:15 PM tonight (AEDT). As this is a long race, it starts a bit earlier than most do. Don't get caught leaving your entry too late.
